Can I reconnect with a Fixed IP - NO (drbits)
I'm not really all that good with computers so I can't exactly figure this out my self. Is there any way for me to Reconnect with a fixed IP address? If not, what can I do about it?
Any help would be appreciated. |

The Reconnect feature does not work with a static IP address. Fortunately, if you are downloading from multiple hosts, Reconnect is not an important feature. It used to be more important when 90% of downloads were from RS.
In the Nightly test release of JD, you can use multiple proxies to simulate a dynamic IP, but that tends to run slowly. Please see the Self Help Index in General Discussion for information about searching for files on several hoss. |

If the IP address is static, you cannot change it.
If the IP address is sticky, you can. Read Getting started with Reconnection. |
