jD's silly behavior when there's no user input
Note: this is concerning how 0.9.x works (I have no idea how jD2 handles this).
Say you have a bunch of files queued up and since jD has no sound alarm capability, you don't see that a captcha window is up and you perform no input into the "solve captcha" box. So what does jD do? jD sends that EMPTY request to the download server and tries to download the file anyway and when it fails, it shows up another captcha window. It eventually stops. So why is this bad? Well, some servers (like uploaded) allow a single file to be downloaded every 3hrs and they even count a FAILURE to solve captcha as a download. So if you miss to solve that captcha, well, screw you.... download it after ANOTHER 3hrs. Come on guys... IF there's no user input, don't send the EMPTY request! Just stop the downloads and wait for user input to start it again (for that host at least). |

Other user might not like if JD's download slots are wasted just to wait for captcha input "forever". The assumption was OK until some servers decide to annoy users more to get more premium income. Wait for JD2.

JD 0.9 you can use sounds, forum search 'captcha sound'
JD 2 has captcha sound option, select from advanced (default: on) There will be an option in the future to set away from computer/silent mode to not display any captcha. If you want a better solution in the short term you can always use captcha exchange providers to solve captcha's when your not present at the computer.
