updates not sticking
Jdownloader shows that there are 4 new updates.
I update JD. The update signal goes away. I work. i shut down my laptop. When i open laptop next, and i open JD, it again shows that i need to update 4 new updates. This has happened for the last 3-4 days. Please advice. |

Some time ago, I had the same problem, JD didn't install the updates. To solve this, I delete the folder tmp (it is in the installed path of JD). Notice that JD has to be closed.

Not JD's fault, Windows undo the update.
Move JD out of program files, check the permission, observe which files are changed back(?).

review and JD java exceptions in the firewall and antivirus .... will not have any program installed freezer type, which does not allow modifications to a previous installation ...
where you use the JD, is portable, is installed or as? when you leave the JD or turn off your laptop, you have made sure that the JD or java not continue running in the background? ... your work or you connect to the Internet using a proxy? ... |

I experienced something similar: JD2 notified me about updates and every time and update was done it started again and notified me about another update while at the same time asking me if I really wanted to close it despite me not ever having clicked on X. Now after 4-5 times I can start JD2 but it looks like a completely new installation: all links are gone from Linkgrabber and all my settings and accounts are lost.
I'm on Win 7 and it's not installed to the regular program dir and Java32 is up to date. |

I didn't understand anything..were you suggesting me to check something or were you asking me something? please use proper punctuation. No..JD is not portable..i have installed it. Problem occurs after the laptops are turned "on" after a shut down. nothing runs in the background (Because the laptop is shut down) I don't connect through a proxy.. |

@maxray2 download this file: http://installer.jdownloader.org/JDownloader.jar
Delete the tmp folder, and the core.jar file, copy the downloaded file (JDownloader.jar), into the folder where you have installed JDwonloader. Run JDownloader.jar as administrator rights P.D.: If you have links in the download tab, and linkGrabber tab, create a DLC to make a backup. Best Regards, |

Thanks Lram32 for your help.
In this new JD2, i didnt get any updates problem. Also, coloumn width can be set by first unlocking them all individually. Thanks once again. Moderators can mark this as solved. |
