Default Bitchute.com plugin broken

They just updated their site, so file names are unrecognizable, sizes display as "Unknown", and they will not download due to "plugin outdated."

Thanks, everything is working properly except the size of the file displays as "unknown" when it is added to the LinkGrabber; however, it displays the size after the file starts downloading.

@RPNet-user: api doesn't provide filesize/estimation and api is really slow, about 12 seconds per video for me, so we skipped filesize determination to speed up adding/crawling. Else JDownloader would have to probe each video on linkcheck which would result in very very slow adding/processing of links
We could add optional setting for this but I don't think it will be necessary.

I have been adding Bit-chute files for years without any crawling delay issues.

This must be an "new issue" since they updated their site.
===================

Edit Update:

BTW; this update was my first in months; however, I notice two changes since this update:

First, the file/package sizes have a third digit appended to them, for example, instead of previously being something like 5.23 GiB, now they show as 5.232 GiB.

Second, when the download starts, there is nothing showing in the “download overview” at the bottom unless the package/file is selected, otherwise, everything shows as “0”.

I’m going to rollback this update and use the browser’s “video downloadhelper” extension to add the bit-chute files.

Now it's much faster, I will add filesize probing with next plugin update. Please wait for next update later today

For filesize format, see https://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=96068

That changelog doesn’t state anywhere that the “download overview” should no longer display information unless the file/package is selected.

So it seems that this was an unintended side-effect when they (added "bytes remaining" to download overview) and no one else has complained that the overview no longer displays information unless a file/package is selected.

Perhaps someone else here can confirm that this is intentional for everyone or this is only affecting me.

Not sure.
Navigate to the bottom right corner of your downloadlist -> Click on the small Wrench-symbol -> Disable "Smart information", now the Download overview will constantly display information even if no elements are selected.

@RPNet-user: sorry, that report/issue about the "download overview" I totally overlooked. I can reproduce it and will fix it. Thanks for the report!

Yes, it's a regression. Smart selection either shows all or selection

[Looks like your website is automatically changing the word "B*tch" into "Nice guy" (!) but hopefully you can work out what the * is substituting there!]

Hello, first time poster here. Not sure if I should put this here or start another thread, but this one seemed closely related enough to do so.

I've been having some problems with B*tchute links recently but have found a makeshift solution that I'd like to request some support on.

In short, the clipboard detector in Jdownloader2 doesn't auto-detect links when I right-click on a URL in Firefox and select "Copy without site tracking," so I have to click the "Add new links" button and then "Continue" instead for it to detect one.

This was working up until today as now B*tchute links (using the above method) will just result in an offline file entry that reads "Content offline!httpdirectorycrawler."

After this problem occurred I noticed that B*tchute links have the text "old." just before the "B*tchute" part (I think they tried to do a big website update recently but then rolled it back) so I decided to try deleting the "old." part while the file address is in the "Add new links" box and then clicked "Continue" to see what happened.

Surprisingly, this actually worked as the video file entry then appeared as it should and I was then able to download the B*tchute file.

So my main question around this is is it possible to add something to Jdownloader2 so that the linkgrabber will automatically detect the B*tchute link and delete the "old." part as described above?

Many thanks,
Jamie

@UncleJamie2020: Please provide example links, then we can check/fix stuff.
see similiar response https://board.jdownloader.org/showpo...89&postcount=2

httpdirectorycrawler -> a new feature that might cause issue but we need example links in order to reproduce/fix the issue. Please send links to support@jdownloader.org

Thanks for the quick response.

The following example links don't currently work:

**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**
**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**
**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

but if you remove the "old." part while the address is in the "Add new links" box then Jdownloader2 will parse the link as normal.

I also have the clipboard monitor enabled.

Thank you very much for sorting this out so quickly, and thank you to all of the JDownloader team for making and keeping the program up to date. Have a great week.

I've just updated JDownloader2 and tested three B*tchute links.

Everything worked properly (in Firefox, right-clicking on a link, then clicking "Copy without site tracking" caused a successful entry to appear in the Linkgrabber list, and starting it then downloaded the file successfully) so thanks again for getting this sorted out so quickly.
