feature/plugin request: FULLPORNER.com
Please consider adding download webpage support for fullporner.com.
There appear to be some good full movies there - free b ut I can't seem to get to them... |

My apologies, Jiaz... I didn't know where to look that up.
I assume that means that it is planned but hasn't happened yet and there is no progress... I can't get to the details because the link requires passwords etc. Thank you for responding. PS/afterthought: looking at the date, does that actually mean that it is now planned as a result of my request? [I'm not sure what you were telling me.] Last edited by VADAR; 14.05.2022 at 19:56. @VADAR: That site is not yet supported and I've created a ticket for this. We will check/look into it and either create plugin or explain about other ways to support this site

PSP and Jiaz:
My apologies, I do not understand what you are telling me. I have the latest update - CORE 46035, I have read the Update FAQ. I am unclear whether support for that site has been added or WILL be added in a future Core update. Please be kind enough to elucidate. Thank you. |

OK. I understand you to say that JD HAS been updated, I should have the update and the site download should now work/ it works when you test it there.
Thanks. It doesn't seem to work for me. If it's relevant, the site does not appear in my list of plugins. I copy the page link in the usual way but nothing apparently happens. I don't get the popup that usually happens to indicate that JD is searching for a download link. It is as if JD does not recognise the copied link and doesn''t start searching in LinkGrabber. [I have also tried 'ADDing' the links. No go.] Some URLs that didn't seem to work for me in Safari: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** [after CUT didn't work, I ADDed It appears the 'analyse' step fails.] **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** and a number of others. I'm sorry, I wasn't able to decipher the instructions on how to create and upload a debug log - there are a helluva lot of settings in ADVANCED and the instructions are none too clear. My apologies... I did try. Last edited by VADAR; 25.05.2022 at 14:16. Reason: afterthought/typo. |

This happened because you didn't provide example URLs in the first place as proposed in our forum rules.
Because of this, we've tested other URLs than you did when we wrote the plugin, overlooking some cases which now failed for you. You've probably assumed that the website would appear under "Settings -> Plugins" which is wrong. I've finally added a support article that explains where/how to find a list of supported websites. It also mentions two places where you might there is a list of supported hosts but it's not: https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...bsites-plugins I've also cross-linked this in an article regarding our Plugin Settings: https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...lugin-settings Quote:
In this case, fullporner.com embeds content from "xiaoshenke.net" which then links to "sxyprn.com". JD hasn't been able to auto-assume those redirects yet. In the first version, we only implemented handling for content that is actually hosted on "xiaoshenke.net". Quote:
The "advanced settings" do have a search bar at the top which you're supposed to use any type in "Log: Debug Mode". This then limits the results to two settings of which you're supposed to select "Log: Debug Mode". We're always open for feedback and are working on improving our support articles. Regarding all code changes mentioned in this reply, the following applies: Bitte auf das nächste CORE-Update warten! Please wait for the next CORE-Update! Wartest du auf einen angekündigten Bugfix oder ein neues Feature? Updates werden nicht immer sofort bereitgestellt! Bitte lies unser Update FAQ! | Please read our Update FAQ! --- Are you waiting for recently announced changes to get released? Updates to not necessarily get released immediately! [[Please provide more detailed feedback so we can improve our help article.

This then limits the results to two settings of which you're supposed to select "Log: Debug Mode". We're always open for feedback and are working on improving our support articles.]] Fair enough. Thank you. The very first point is that it is not obvious that there is a search bar and that one should use it. The article does not say that and should e.g. SAY to 'search for Debug' using the Search bar at the top of the window. [Simple. If the bar had the word 'SEARCH ' in it I suppose it'd then be obvious. It seems to be a Net standard - either that or a Magnifying glass icon to indicate function. ATM, it's a blank space.] I actually wish there was a search/find feature available in the main JD download window as I often find it difficult to find my place in there and often need to. [On a Mac it's usually under the EDIT menu...] I will post more after I again address the second part of the instructions : '...How to upload Logs...' which really defeated me. Thanks again for the terrific, responsive support. Apologies for any inconvenience. Last edited by VADAR; 25.05.2022 at 15:43. |

I DO now see "filter settings' and completely missed the magnifying glass. I guess I found it a little hard to see and understand because I WAS looking for a SEARCH. I still can't see this feature in 'Downloads'. Where is it please? [Unfortunately I can't do screen grabs at the moment due to keyboard problems - I am having the faulty keyboard replaced.] Sorry about the inconvenience. Obviously not one of my better days... @VADAR: file size isn't available directly after adding the links to speedup the crawling process. they are available on manual linkcheck via rightclick context menu or on actual download.

I think that's probably a good idea, Jiaz... As a long-time systems programmer, I don't normally find it difficult to work these things out. If I find those directions somewhat obscure, I'm pretty sure others will too. Thanks. [Comments on part 2 still to come...] |

an "A HA" experience and uninvited general observations
Quote:
Thanks, Jiaz.... What you DIDN'T say was that these links/entries were still valid and that the files /videos would be downloadable anyway. This is 'Non-Obvious'... So, I guessed. I started the downloads despite the ominous 'UNKNOWN' file sizes and the bloody things seem to have worked. [It is 'ominous'' because it looks like an error and all the other VALID links to files had valid sizes. It's one way for me to determine whether the link is usable or points to some junk - as some do...On unsupported sites, I will often get a lot of small junk and one obvious large video file which I then download, deleting the 'junk' entries, ya see?]] BTW: 2 notes: I have located what is intended to be the 'SEARCH' on the Downloads page, thank you. As you know, it is right at the bottom of the screen with some tech stuff and very faintly labelled ' Please enter the filename you are looking for'. With respect to all, this - Location and function/desription are neither intuitive or obvious and I would not have found it without an intensive examination and you telling me that it was there. Logically, It should be an obvious Search button at the top right. As an uninvited general observation, I believe that Jdownloader 2 is a very powerful and immensely useful application with superb support. I also would suggest that its 'Human interface guidelines' could be greatly improved. [It feels like it's been designed and built/documented by UNIX/LINUX developers for UNIX/LINUX Users.n Rather than for humans... :] I think you could do with a USERS Manual with a whole lot of 'Where it is', 'How it all Works' and 'HOW TO'. As a second unsolicited observation based on my own experience, back when I was a Mac developer, I used a 6 Volume "Inside MacIntosh" set of books to figure out how to design and write for Macs. There were 2 entire, large, standalone volumes dedicated to rigorous and well-designed 'User Interface guidelines' which were more like rules or laws for developers than guidelines - basically how a Mac App should look, feel, behave etc... Not every developer liked this but it was Apple's way of ensuring that any Mac Apps were easy to use and their behaviour easy to understand and predict. It worked. And it taught me a lot of good things. :outch: MY SINCERE THANKS FOR A GREAT APPLICATION AND THE WONDERFUL SUPPORT. Last edited by VADAR; 27.05.2022 at 08:24. Reason: Thumbs... |

Available or set filesize/name is no meaningfulness information for availability. Some hosts do not provide filesize until actual download is started. others don't provide a filename until actual download started. but in this case the Availability is checked You should check the Availability column for more reliable sources of information for this

No offence, Jiaz but that's a Tech-head developer solution not a user-oriented solution. [And that is NOT an insult, Jiaz...] I'd just put a simple 'search' button at top right, simply labelled ['SEARCH FOR filename' not 'Filter by'] and let tech-head users have the setting to move or remove it if THEY really want to go to the trouble. In my experience, one designs the default interface elements and behaviour for new/inexperienced/average users and THEN permits the mad tech-heads to fiddle/change things to suit their preferences, not the other way around. I'd also make it a letter by letter progressive search so that as the filename is typed in the cursor jumps to f then fi then file etc. [for 'filename']. OTOH/better idea, you may instead wish to handle partial searches such as allowing 'MARIA' to find '1234 SUNDAY FUN WITH MARIA.MP4' and similar because I don't think anyone wants to type the full thing even if they know it, remember it and can input it accurately from memory - which is not most people in my humble experience. [And, Yeah, I know that's a filter but calling it that is not a great idea when most personal computer users are looking for 'Search' or 'Find'... like the one that's at the top of their browser and in most all of their Apps... they'll expect/hope that it behaves that way, too.] Anyway, that's MY 2c worth, FWIW... More responses soon... [Sorry, 2:45AM here ATM.] Last edited by VADAR; 27.05.2022 at 18:58. Reason: Dumbness. |

I'm sorry but right now it is "Please enter the filename you are looking for...", yes we could add the *search* icon in front of it to make it more clear but I think the wording is good enough? Well it was good enough the last 10 years or longer

It would be a good example of a thing that should be in a USERS GUIDE, don't you think? Perhaps also as a warning under 'file size'. I don't know what most of the icons and indicators in this excellent App DO or mean, sadly. I HAVE found some excellent stuff when I've just played with it but I'm quite sure I've missed a lot like this one. |

I don't know how the current search works because I didn't find it and haven't used it. I think regex pattern matching is a great idea but, how many non-*NIX heads remember, understand and use it or even know the setting exists? Obviously, I didn't and I'd need a regex man online to use the damn thing now. |

When you wake up again why not simply try it? I don't see any need for changes at all. The current search works fine for beginner/normal user and with regex support, even power users/nerds can have fun with search

I'm sorry but what for should the warning be? It highly depends on the content/site/plugin if a name / filesize / file availability status are available prior to actual download.

Also, If that is true, there is never a good reason to change anything, anywhere, is there? It's what drives the 'conservative' agenda in most places, especially the Divided States of America, for example. Famously, a bloke at one company put a "ring me on [phone no.] for a 10,000 dollar prize, free if you read this line" at the bottom of the standard 'Terms and Conditions' statement used when installing the company's software package - just as with nearly every package, users were REQUIRED to hit an "I agree and have read the Conditions" button before installation. It reputedly went out to tens of thousands of users before ONE fella called to collect - no-one else had ever READ the stuff. So, how many users use that search? How many use the excellent, powerful, regex feature? What percentage would that be? PS: In any event, in my case it's not the wording, it's that I didn't see/find the search box... Now, I know. I now know about regex too because I've been personally told by a senior developer. Last edited by VADAR; 27.05.2022 at 19:34. Reason: edit |

A tooltip maybe that indiciates the *safety* of a shown value, eg green = information provided by trustworthy api, yellow = uncertain source, grey = estimation...that could be possible and also the tooltop then contain additional explanation
