Default Package name generation converts dots to spaces

I'm currently trying to figure out how the package name (<jd:packagename>) generation works. Because it removes dots. Like the directory/package name here has dots:
**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

But after import in JD its only having spaces instead.

How can I change that behavior?

that link has a plugin, if you use jd to add said url the package name is set in the plugin
cleanups of filepackage names take place at the core after been returned.
<jd:packagename> is just a reference of current value so that user can use sub directory as packagename

to change the behaviour you will need to have your own custom plugin for that site and utilise fp.set("CLEANUP_NAME", false);
