Default Only one file at a time downloading properly.

Been using JD2 for years, but I've been away from JD2 for about three months. I don't know if anything has changed in that time. Suddenly, a new problem. I've got a queue full of files to download and enjoy blazing fast internet while browsing.

But my JD2 doesn't want to perform as usual. I can have anywhere from five to sixteen simultaneous downloads, but only one or maybe two will download at a usable speed. All the rest have the red triangle and run around 1 or 2 KiB/s.

When the one or two files the are running at a better speed complete, a different file will suddenly speed up and run properly.

End result of all this is an average speed of around 800-1000 KB/s, when I should be getting over three times that amount.

Max simultaneous has been set at 5, 10, and 16. Doesn't seem to make a difference. Max chunks has been set at 1, 2, and 3. Also doesn't seem to make a difference.

I'm downloading from four different sites. All do the same thing.

Any advice from the helpful ones?

other than speed limit engaged ? red line in the speed graphic.
download speed should be shared across all active dl. Only difference would be some could be with premium some with free. free might not have chunking and premium could and that can take bw.

other than that Im just guessing.

Thanks for the reply, Raztoki.

Just tried to send a screen, but learned that attachments are not do-able. The screen I had showed sixteen files running. One had 900+ KiB/s. All the rest were 1-2 KiB/s with red triangles.

Speed limit is not turned on.

No free vs paid problem here. These are all free tube video sites that only three months ago DID distribute the speed evenly across all links.

Like I said though, now, only one moves along properly, maybe two. All the rest have to wait until those links are completed before they get a chance to enjoy faster speed.

Any other thoughts? Maybe a Mac setting outside of JD2 that's causing this?

Nothing has changed on our side which would cause this. All I'm thinking is, do you run any antivirus/firewall software on your system or even router? these can slow down downloads in a manner that your talking.

Ugh. Duh. Of course.

Switched it off and it worked perfectly.

Thank, Raztoki.
