Same problem here:

RunDLL window pops up:
"There was a problem starting user
The specified module could not be found."

as well as the following RunDLL window:
"Error in Shell32
Missing entry: SHExitWindowsEx"

Blame MS, they f..d shell32 calls in W8 (something which worked for every version since 98 up to W7) so until someone finds how to call different shutdown methods in W8 - JD Shutdown won't work

How about simply initiating: "shutdown /s /t 0" in command line from JDownloader after downloads are finished?

Yup it is possible, it requires ShutdownExtension to be rewritten for W8.
And shutdown in Vista and further versions has no Standby option.

Why they always have to mess with something which worked well in previous 3-4 versions of Windows?

Here is a command for hibernate mode that also works on windows 8:

Code:
rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState
Is there somebody, who could fix this?

I encounter the same problem under Windows 8 Pro, jdownloader (regular version, not the beta) and Java 7.

Is there a fix or workaround for the problem available?

I'm using the most recent version of JDownloader with all the latest updates installed. Shutdown is still not working on Windows 8.

Raztoki, could you please give us a solution to this problem? I'm attaching a snapshot of the RunDLL errors...

Thanks!

After weeks of testing and trying out different things it's working now for me. I just installed Java 6 Update 37!

I hope this helps. It's sad that it doesn't work with newer versions of Java. I don't understand why JD doesn't get an update to fix it! It's always a risk to use older Java versions.
