Default Download List Disappeared

Hi guys.

Had about 1000 links in my download list. Opened JD & there is nothing!

Searched the forum & there is mention of using database.zip in the backup folder. My database.zip file is 2 weeks old so can't contain the links I'm talking about.

Saw this thread which says the list is saved every 10mins & that future versions will have an improved backup solution:
http://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=25453

I'd love some guidance.

Thanks for looking.

How big is your database.script? Copy that to another folder. If it's too big, that is the problem.

Thanx for replying Tony.

C:\Program Files (x86)\JDownloader\config\database.script is 1.42MB.

I've copied it to another folder (not moved).

Not sure what to do now.

Looks not too big, but try with this .bat: java -jar -Xmx1024m JDownloader.jar.
Did you update your Java recently?

No I haven't updated java.

I created a bat file of the command you gave me. I had to substitute "java" for the actual java.exe path.

I ran the bat file from the command prompt. A lot of stuff was displayed in the cmd box.

JDownloader started but still an empty list.

Is that what I was supposed to do?

I think you did it correctly, double heap size should be enough.
Maybe somehow your database.script has been corrupted.

Go to the forder where JD is installed. Look for the folder called backup, there you can see several files with name database.zip, take the file that has the biggest size, copy the files that are into the database.zip (database.properties and database.script), to the folder called config.

P.D.: If you have files in the folder config make a backup copying this folder in another path.

Hello,

Mine list disappears every time I restart Jdownlaoder. I had updated Java to 7 and later did Jdownloader update as well. Now the issue is that even if I have 10 links in the list to download, it disappears every time I have to do restart the app.

Copy the folder of JDownloader to another path, for example: C:\JDownloader2, then run JDownloader with administrator rights. Check if it works for you.

The download list is inside the database.script file, so observing that file might help to understand what's wrong.

Hi, I have the same problem, I download the last version of Jdownloader and then my long list of downloads just dissapeared, then the warning showed up indicating the bug if a previous upgrade of java was performed, not even the backups exists. This warning should be in the download page, not AFTER installing the software. Is there anything I can do to recover my list?, thanks for your great software.

There is no new version in the download page, you should not do that. When you change something, a good practice is always have a backup. Did you upgrade your JRE?
