Default Ubuntu - Problems after latest PPA update

Hi,

I've just updated JD on my Ubuntu machine, and I'm having problems launching the app. I've tried running jdownloader-installer, which is installed, but this looks like a ghost package, because nothing but a docs file exists on my system.
To sum up, the latest update screwed up existing JD installation (can't properly run it using java -jar JDownloader.jar - it always hangs at some point) and also prevents a new installation (no jdownloader-installer or anything simillar on the system).

Hey, I managed to start it by making the JDownloader.jar executable.
Start it in a terminal, navigate to the folder and run "sudo chmod +x JDownloader.jar".
Then you should be able to run it with right mouse click - start with java runtime etc-.
Good Luck

So, you've done same thing as me starting it from terminal with java -jar JDownloader.jar (but in my case it always hangs - and then I have problems killing it)

The ppa update is broken - here are all files included in the update:

/.
/usr
/usr/share
/usr/share/doc
/usr/share/doc/jdownloader-installer
/usr/share/doc/jdownloader-installer/changelog.Debian.gz
/usr/share/doc/jdownloader-installer/copyright

when can we expect a fix?

I can still run the old installed version as mentioned above

Why did you do ppa update?
Plugin update should be done from inside JD (update button).

Why not ?
The whole reason of using the PPA is to get newest updates of software that are prepared for a specific OS. And is done by simply using apt-get update && apt-get upgrade.

There's no corellation between PPA update and plugin update (at least there wasn't - PPA update updated the installer, and the plugins were updated from the app)

There is no software update, JD2 is still beta.
Who maintains the PPA?
