I know the one that doesn't work only has a # at the end but, not sure if that is something for certain channels or not.

Apologies to ask a never-ending question, I guess, but I didn't find the solution!

It's some weeks now, when I want to download a Youtube video (mp4), JD2 doesn't allow me to unless I install ffmpeg.

If I choose no/cancel, then video is not downloading and get a flag skip-ffmpeg missing. Is ffmpeg mandatory now?

Before, when I choose to not install, JD2 was just skipping it and then was downloading the video, without the need of ffmpeg. (video already comes with sound, unless it has changed!, I don't need to separate streams, demux or remux anything... or is it a new youtube way of doing things...)

It depends on stream format if ffmpeg is is required or not. YT serves some streams/qualities as single files or DASH (seperate video/audio) which requires ffmpeg.
This new DASH format exists since long long time now

I also have a "sign in to confirm your age" problem.

When I try to add my YT account to JD2 it asks me to do the 2-Step Verification, even though it's disabled on my Google Account.
So I enabled 2-Step Verification, but once I try to add the account, it doesn't send a code to my phone. It gives me the task of choosing between 3 numbers. One of which is supposed to be visible on the other screen (PC). Obviously there is no number, so I had to guess and even though I guessed correctly, I still need to type in that code I don't have.

Playlist parsing is really slow.

Is this a known issue?

the parsing of the playlist is actually fast (finding the video uids), its the processing of the results which takes time (returning the results into linkgrabber). This has always been the case.

I've noticed two bugs:

1) When processing **External links are only visible to Support Staff**this playlist, part 24 gets the same title as part 23. This seems to persist even if I then linkgrab the individual videos manually, until I restart JDownloader.

2) Subtitles can no longer be found. Many of the videos on the above playlist have subtitles, but I can't select any of them. When I process the whole playlist, it creates a subtitle link for part 23 or part 24 (I can't tell which since they're both named like 23!), but it automatically selects the text2speech version. I can still select the UK subtitles manually though (but only for that one video).

In case it's relevant, the filename I use for video files is

*CHANNEL* - *DATE[yyyy-MM-dd]* - *TITLE* (*RESOLUTION**FPS* *VIDEO_CODEC*, *AUDIO_BITRATE*kbps *AUDIO_CODEC*).*EXT*"

I think the subtitle regression is fairly recent - when this LP started I could grab subtitles for it just fine.

started last night on my desktop PC, links would not grab after copying them. Tried it on my older laptop that had not been turned on in a month or so, same issue. is this happening for others as well?

After playing with the plugin settings for video resolutions/audio streams to grab it seems to not want to grab the low 240p/48bitAAC settings I had it set at. I wonder if youtube changed their end somehow so these settings are not there to grab anymore? Attached a pic of my settings, for now will change them to something that it is able to grab as I was able to change a few settings to test things and it was grabbing links (added 128 audio to settings and was able to grab links), it will do for now.

and I also got this for the 1st time ever today after adding the 128 audio setting "sign in to confirm your age" i seen a few posts about this on the previous page but no fix? or is there one?

@raztoki Some kind of race condition specific to my hardware? Weird how I always get the same result. I've definitely seen it on other playlists too. I'd be happy to supply a log if it helps.

nope, though it could mean you have outdated youtube plugins and or JDownloader.

current revision is 38173 for the decrypter and 38157 for the hoster plugin. (from class files)

I have core version 38368 and JDownloader can find no updates. I don't know how to check the version of the plugins.

The problem isn't consistent but it shows up a fair bit (I don't know why it looked so consistent before, some sort of caching maybe). I just tried again with the same playlist, and this time it duplicated parts 7 and 25.

Youtube does have plugin cache, though it wont mix one video id up with another. Its been made so you can add or adjust variants without the need to re-scrape the information again.
I have cached disabled in workspace as I don't like it enabled for development reasons.

Yes I can confirm there is something strange going on with its ability to find certain formats now. I'm now missing the option to download Audio aac min AAC 48 kbit/s, audio only type download. (128kbit_AAC) always shows up though, as does 144p_30fps_VP9-48kbit.

from few days no way to download subtitles fron any video of youtube.
I think the last ugrade has a bug.

I tried even to install to another pc, nothing. The description is ok, but no one subs.

There is some fix? Is it possible go back to previous version of Jdownload of few days before?

Hi, my problem is that when I select a Youtube link it loads in Jdownloader 2.0 the video, the thumbnail, and the Description but no the SRT archive with the subtitles y choose in my Youtube options.:outch::outch::outch::outch::outch::outch:

I think jd2 version is irrelevant. I backup jd2 folder everyday, and revert it to a-few-days-ago version (which grabbed srt link correctly at that time), but that version doesn't grab link now. I tried several version, but no luck. So maybe Youtube should have changed something.
But at the same time, it' mystery to me that yousubtitles.com could grab srt even right after this srt issue.

Yes , a Senior Member of this site said that is 2 months that youtube plugin doesn't change, so it's somenthing from youtube side that is changed

As you, i tried with another site, downsub, and it works perfectly

Hi! If I'm not wrong, the "sign in...confirm age..." I added my youtube account to jdownloader and the message disappear after pasting the links again.
