Hi

Can you add a fonction on the Linkgrabber with the right click to merge each folders in a new folder instead only all the files?

you should be able to merge any item either package or individual file depending on the section you have.

select + right click : other > move into a new package

Problem with that function is that it seems to group it in JD, but the file structure on disk remains how it is originally and doesn't change the grouping.

@isandar: can you please provide some screenshots what you exactly mean? I could not really understand what you mean/want

@kdean: jdownloader does not move any existing files on disk in case you move them/change folder in downloadlist

Something like that with default Packagizer rule ("Create Subfolder by Packagename") already works in JD's LinkGrabber:

JD suggests the new package name as the name of last selected package, so if user doesn't change that name - the save directory will be as it was for that last selected package.
If user inserts new package name - the save dir will be the same as the new package name.

Example:
Package A with save folder: 'A'
Package B with save folder: 'B'
After merging them to new package C - the save folder will be 'C'

and what do to when A goes to C:\ and B goes to D:\, where should C go to?
at the moment JDownloader already works as you want, but only in case both go to same, eg

A goes to c:\packagename
B goes to c:\packagename
then C will also go to c:\packagename

but in case
A goes to c:\test
B goes to c:\packagename
then C will go to defaultFolder

I can however add an advanced config to customized this if you want

I'm not talking about existing files. I'm talking about merging or renaming the package in Linkgrabber before starting it. In JD1 it would name the folder appropriately. JD2 does not.

Also if I download a bunch of direct image links that I group into one package, it doesn't download them into a grouped folder with that package name, it just keeps them as individual files in the main download folder.

I already have other preferences set to create a subfolder, but if I turn on the Packagizer rule "Create a Subfolder by Packagename", I get a folder with a package name and then a sub-folder that's literally called "<jd/packagename>" instead of an actual package name. Not sure how that thing is supposed to work.

folder rename: does only work when its enabled for the package.
see my explanation post before yours how the new package will be named

for images...again you have to enable packagename for folder...see packagizer and enable / import the default subfolder rule
or
edit the folder and enable subfolder checkbox

will check the subfolder rule, maybe something got broken
can you provide screenshots of the created folder and your rule window

appwork has indicated previously that they do not want subpackages. Either you leave them unmerged or merge and use the new state. You can have path on disk based on package rules as different locations. But as I understand it there will not be any subpackages within JD GUI.

Not a good news with appwork if i understand well... here we can see the real limit for the packagizer.

Thanks for answer anyway

at the moment we only want to support one level of packages/folder
so a merge will put all files into one package

adding support for another packagelevel causes alot of new issues and makes it much more complicated to control stuff
we want stuff easy at the moment and another packagelevel only makes it more complicated

one package all files go into the same folder, having another packagelevel no longer allows to set downloadfolder for package and many other problems

so why not move your images into different packages which will download into their own folders

Ok i understand very well now it's not the moment, i'll wait if you can create a rule in the future. Just want to say with JD with the hoster in my screenshots i have already seen what i ask it was possible, subpackages can be created. That's why i asked that, i thought with the packagizer it was even easier to find a solution to do this even with each folders for example. And of course manually it's possible to do everything

packages within jd gui != folders on disk.

if you want sub directories on disk, setup package customiser rules to place unique items into your desired save path. Make up rules based on data source/filename/filetype/etc && then use <jd:packagename> as your dynamic path at the end. What you want to achieve is already within your finger tips.

Maybe one day you could make a page for newbies explaining how to create rules with packagizer... i have very small fingers that's why i need support and i use several instance of JD2 with different directories cause i have not seen a solution more practical for the moment
