UI icons & fonts are very small under GNOME
Hi again,
I'm using Ubuntu 18.04 with GNOME shell v3.28.2 My screen resolution is FHD 1366x768 on 13.3" screen. Unlike in Windows 10 (Which I run in UHD 1920x1080) there is a scaling problem with the fonts and icons in JD (probably because it doesn't use GNOME shell interface [KDE maybe]). As you can see in the printscreen the title bat icon is 13px so I guess JD's font size is about 10px it's very small. I couldn't find any setting in JD or in JRE to handle it. Thanks |

I'm sorry but where exactly do you think are icons/text very small?
As there is only one JDownloader, there should be no GUI differences and from first look I can't see anything *different* or *small*. What Icon exactly do you mean?

Hi Jiaz,
As you can see here The fonts of JD's UI IMHO is at least 2px smaller then GNOME's (Ubuntu Condensed Regular 13). From where does it take it's font settings (type,size,properties[italic,bold...]) ? Another thing about the UI is that tray icon (bottom right of the panel) is useless in GNOME right or left click doesn't work and icon is a black rectangle. There is a general problem with GNOME's tray-bar right click or hover doesn't function only left click works. |

The window manager must be supported by the java version. I can say that Oracle java often had/has better compatibility with modern/many window manager. So when the Trayicon doesn't work, very likely it's not supported/broken between window manager <-> java version.
Seems tray icons got removed with newer Gnome, see stackoverflow.com/questions/50440268/the-system-tray-is-not-supported-on-the-current-platform github.com/qzind/tray/issues/60

JDownloader has fixed layout/icon size.

Update [kde]
In Kubuntu KDE Plasma 5.12.6 ,screen resolution 1920x1080 with font DPI at 140% (which doesn't affect JD) the situation is even worse the fonts are tiny compared to my UI fonts as you can see in the attached picture.

JDownloader should honor system dpi by default. Check
Settings-Advanced Settings-LAFSettings.fontrespectssystemdpi and LAFSettings.fontscalefactor

Quote:
Settings->Advanced Settings>LAFSettings.F I've set it to 130% non-default font - Noto Sans 10 as in my OS Two things I've noticed:

The GUI doesn't scale unlimited. above certain scale factor some gui elements will not proper layout. Sure the font is *Noto Sans 8* and not *Noto Sans* and 8 is the font size? Trywith *Noto Sans*
