Default Virus on my computer

Some days ago i received this message:

A virus alert was noticed on your computer.
We highly recommend you to check your computer and perform online virus check at our site immediately: **** External Links are only visible to supporters ****

Sincerely, Forum Administration board.jdownloader.org.

JDownloader had luckily found a Virus on my computer, and told me to download it snew Anti-virus. Of course I downloaded it, but now my computer seems to run slower, and I see ads. I guess that the Anti-virus tried to remove the Virus, but only suceded in removing the part that hides it. At leadt I'm lucky it didn't do something bad like erasing my hard drive or burning my womanboard.

What do you think its a good Anti-virus to use now? The old anti-virus reccomended me that i buy a registry cleaner, is this a good idea?

Cool

The best way to avoid viruses is to stop using M$ Windoze and use a more secure OS.

Whoever still gets messages of the fake "board administration" with virus shit in it:
Just DO NOT click on any links in there and tell us the names of the users sending such PMs.
I think we have to change the board so that you can't send PMs if you have 0 posts or that you have to enter a captcha when trying to send a PM when having 0 posts!

Default common sense

First: U should have some sort of antivirus on your machine...if not; that is a no-no!
The minute U decided to "check" U have made a mistake and U just have allowed some "third party" like have installed on your machine.
All U can do now is: reinstall from scratch.
Sorry....

I'm sorry, I didn't understant a word of what you said. Since I'm not a native english speaker, it would be better for me if you wrote more clearly. For a start, what does the single U mean? Its an abbreviation of some other word?

um, this thread is so confusing to me. I don't understand where you got a virus or something like that from and I don't understand why it infects a linux system since there isn't any virus scanner under linux 'cause that doesn't make any sense there. So you use linux as I refer to your screenshot. So where do you see ads and so on? I don't get it.

Well, and we don't send these messages - it's spam.

He downloaded the virus from web site that the link he got from the PM, with understanding that it is an anti virus program.

Kaspersky has Anti-Virus for Linux Workstation:
