Default Increase Maximum Chunks Per File

While running on 1Gb/s service, I am not able to achieve maximum downstream on single-file downloads due to the 20-chunk limit that has been placed. As I understand it, this cap was implemented as an effort to mitigate potential, data corruption. Is that still the case? Can this cap be forcefully raised?

I would like to test this, to satisfy my own curiosity, regardless of any concerns that anyone might have with regard to file corruption. It would be good if someone can offer assistance for this experiment.

Thank you.

at this given time 20 is limit at the core. This limit has been set as limit not for the reason of data corruption but it has been seen as acceptable upper limit to accieve fast download without causing issue with server.

My recommendation is to increase max sim dl as max chunks * max sim dl = total connections, until you achieve your desired throughput.

Thank you for responding, raztoki.

As per your suggestion, how can desired throughput be achieved with single-file downloads? Perhaps I am misunderstanding the available options in JD2. Based on my limited understanding, maximum simultaneous downloads will only prove advantageous for multi-file downloads. Is this not correct?

Regarding server errors, I do not currently experience problems while downloading multiple files (multiple, simultaneous downloads), each with 20 chunks, thus totaling 40+ chunks, via the server that I primarily download from. That said, I do not know if increasing the chunks on the individual files would make any discernible difference. Please advise.

Thank you.

at this given time you can't increase over that 20 limit per file. So not possible for single file or even multiple files. Just you can increase the over all connections based on multiple transfers, assuming you are doing multiple transfers.

You can create DomainRules (use boardsearch) to increase max downloads for specific domains. I suggest to use the Auto Max Downloads feature

Settings-Advanced Settings
GeneralSettings.automaxdownloadsspeedlimit
-> specify wished speed in byte/s
GeneralSettings.automaxdownloadsspeedlimitmaxdownloads
-> max number of auto max downloads
GeneralSettings.automaxdownloadsspeedlimitmindelay
->min delay between two downloads

I suggest to set max connectinos to 1-2 and use this feature to download more files concurrently

It makes more sense to download more files(higher chance to download from several servers) than more connections(downloading from same (overloaded) server).
