Can you please test "**External links are only visible to Support Staff** with their link checker? I can't download it with jD nor with my browser. FSe says it's available. I'm already trying that link for several weeks.

@remi
Nightly LinkGrabber also says it's online, but after decrypting it and then long waiting (jD or browser) - connection fails. I think the file is on the damaged or offline server.

I'm having issues with fileserve download, I have a premium account but the files start downloading and after a few secs they just give me socket timeout:Read Timed Out,I'm attaching 2 screenshots.
I'm using JDownloader 0.9.581 on Windows XP SP3 My Connection is a 6MB Cable Modem. Any clue why this might be happening? Oh I forgot, I'm able to download the links directly through browser Regards. Last edited by Gn0m3; 17.03.2011 at 17:48. Reason: Information Added |

![]() As I say I retrieved the IP with flagfox extension. i haven't looked at which service it retrieves it's data but for fileserve here's an **External links are only visible to Support Staff**extensive list of subdomains with their correspondings IPs, but as we see at least for fs124v2d13 the IP is not updated. @buggsy:
Funny: for me this link is decrypted by their API to fs124dm.fileserve.com (209.222.11.203) ![]()

I guess they just lost track of that file and I can give many other examples of lost files that are still reported as "available" after several weeks of trying. I don't know any other file host with such a big problem.
As I said before I think they screwed up their indexes (after a crash or whatever) and now they no longer know where some of their files are. Knowing where your files are stored should be one of the basics of file hosting, but that doesn't seem to apply to the amateurs at FSe. If a disk with all those files has crashed and they haven't made backups, they should simply remove the lost files from their indexes. If it would be a server problem then I can't imagine that none of those guys at FSe hasn't detected it or hasn't received a complaint about it during the last few weeks. I can't imagine they wouldn't check the accessibility of their servers at least once a day. I would check/ping my servers every few minutes. @mulmul I would never even think of paying one cent for such a bad service. |

Well okay then the message that JD shows isn't 100% correct but still you have reached a limit and have to wait or reconnect;) GreeZ pspzockerscene

I just started 2 downloads from fileserve. Both started and already had ~150MB downloaded.
Sudddenly I get errors (Disconnect?) and can't proceed. Now I open them in my browser and when I click download fastest I also get an error saying firefox can't reach that page. Seriously what's going on with Fileserve? :s They need to invest in better servers! EDIT: There also seem to be problems with JD? I added fresh links. JD says they're online but when I download they fail. So I open in browser and see the file is deleted due to non activity. My log: http://jdownloader.net:8081/pastebin/32502 Example links: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** EDIT2: Just read some of the previous posts, looks like FS is in big trouble. If I keep experiencing a lot of probs with them I'm not sure if I'll renew my premium! Last edited by Fo4RaX; 19.03.2011 at 10:50. |

@Vjeetn
Again: WE are using their linkchecker to check the links. See here: fileserve.com/link-checker.php Now check your links using the linkchecker. What do you see? Yep, the linkchecker shows "online". This bug is now in fileserve for MORE THAN 6 months and they know it but didn't fix it! GreeZ pspzockerscene EDIT JD handles it as good as it can. When trying to download such links they're marked as offline which is correct. Fileserve has to fix their linkchecker, we can't do that!

Thx for the reply, see my post EDIT2
![]() It 's a shame such a big file hoster does not resolve this problem. I think I'll contact them and tell them the same I did here: If this problem persists I might change to another hoster... EDIT: Sent a message under BUG REPORT: Hello, it appears that the linkchecker from FS is encountering problems. Links appear to be online but when you actually want to download them the files are missing/deleted. Please fix this problem. I think it's a shame such a big file hosting company encounters these errors. If the problem persists for the next months I'm not sure if I'll renew my premium account... There have been numurous reports about this and seems to be going on for the past 6 months! I sincerely hope this gets fixed soon. Thank you. Last edited by Fo4RaX; 19.03.2011 at 12:05. |
