Grabber recognizes audio tracks when I copy a link, but JD2 is unable to download them - "skipped - account is missing" error (only .jpg image is downloaded), even though my VK account is active and is able to download videos flawlessly. Or is it how it should be?

Hi,
audio URLs cannot be downloaded because their (light-) DRM protected.
Try other tools or this method.

It seems to be that video grabbing for vk.com isn't working right now.
Example link is: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

The software starts to search for it, but finds zero downloadable content.
Could you please help me?

As of yesterday, I can no longer add VK video links. Linkgrabber doesn't find any links when entering the video URL

It happens with any VK video. ( **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** )

Adding VK picture links is OK.

It worked until yesterday, and I haven't changed the configuration.

Does anyone else have the problem?

Vk has made minor changes to their website.

Because users keep asking, I'll sum it up once more.
Single videos and some video-albums were not crawlable for some days.

The next CORE-Update (which is not released yet!) will address the following issues:
- Fixed crawling of single videos
- Fixed crawling of some video albums
--> Videos as part of walls/profiles may also fail at this moment!
As a workaround until the update arrives, you can use this download method for single videos.

Thank you. It took me a while to figure out how to use Video Downloadhelper on VK. It does not work as described on the "How to" page.

When opening a VK video (any video on the start page), the Video Downloadhelper icon does not show one or several links (different resolutions) to the video, but a series of links to successive short parts of the VK video. The first part is 4KB, the following around 4MB each. See screenshot.

Copying a link to the first or other parts with "Copy Url" does not generate a link that the JD Linkgrabber can use.

You have to go on the "Details" submenu of the first video part, then copy the link under "pageUrl", which Linkgrabber will recognize.

The first one in your screenshot listed as 4KB but containing a resolution should be the one you want.
When I tested it I got a lot more results in which I had to scroll down and choose the result on the bottom tagged as "HLS-Streaming".

I can't confirm that.
In the details page, you would usually want to copy the value of "masterManifest".
In my case "pageUrl" was just the original video URL e.g.: "vk.com/video-123456_12345"
Can you post a screenshot of the "details" page for me and also show, which of the items you clicked in beforehand to view the details?

I've updated our article nevertheless and hope it'll be a bit more understandable now.
Please again keep in mind that "Video DownloadHelper" is not made by us so all we provide is this article as a fallback/helper.
Other similar addons are listed there as well and you might find better tutorials about this topic e.g. on youtube or the website(s) of the creators of those mentioned browser addons.

After writing my post, I noticed that my method above does not work when searching for a video (which I do most of the time on VK), then opening the video from the search result list.

In that case, the link on the Details page contains a Search string. Linkgrabber doesn't recognize the link.

As a workaround, you can add the video to a list, then go to the list, play the video and use the link from Details in Download Helper.

Example 1 (failure):

- Search for "superman", then open this video

**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

- go on the Video Downloadhelper icon, select the first video (6KB MP4) then go on the details page (screenshot 1)

- The link under "PageUrl" is not recognized by Linkgrabber

Example 2 (success):

- With the same video from the search results, add it to a personal list ("Add to my videos")

- go to the list, open the video, then do the same steps as above

- now the video link on the Details page (Screenshot 2), line PageUrl is different, it is recognized by linkgrabber

It works, but there may be an easier method to get the same result.

I'm indeed able to reproduce this.
As said it always depends on the website...but if you want you may as well contact the VideoDownloadHelper support and ask them why this is not working in context of those "search URLs".

As explained, our plugin handling for single vk.com videos is currently broken.
The URL you're trying to add to JD is not(!) a direct video URL --> You're using VideoDownloadHelper in the wrong way!
Also they must contain either the text ".m3u8" or ".mp4" somewhere in the link.
Those "search URLs" will also work fine again once the mentioned update gets released.

Ich musste Win 10 neuinstallieren und auch den jdownloader 2. Nun habe ich versucht Videos von hier **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** per jdownloader zu laden.

Vor der Neuinstallation habe ich per Rechtsklick mit der Maus auf ein Video über "Link-Adresse kopieren" das Video in den jdownloader geladen - nun geht das nicht mehr. Auch wenn ich ein Video öffne und den Link manuell aus der Adressleiste kopiere, geht der Link/Video nicht in den jdownloader. Im jdownloader sehen ich rechts unten das "Link einfügen Icon" sich drehen, aber es passiert dennoch nichts. Irgendwas scheint die Links nun zu blocken.

Komischerweise kann ich von hier **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** Videos problemlos in den jdownloader hinzufügen.

Kann jemand helfen? Danke.

Wenn ich die erste Zeile richtig übersetze, können derzeit keine vk.com Videos in den jdownloader geladen werden, weil das dazugehörige Plugin nicht funktioniert, richtig?

So muß man wohl auf das nächste Core-Update warten, damit jdownloader die Links wieder lädt?

Heute kann ich auch von hier **External links are only visible to Support Staff**... keine Videos mehr in den jdownloader laden - vor einigen Tagen ging das noch.
