Various grouping doesn't work anymore
Hi,
Although I have turned on the option to group single files into "Various Packages" it doesn't work, even after the latest update. Grouping offline file doesn't work either. Can somebody take a look at it please? Thanks in advance, M |

Not aware of any changes which might cause this. And I can not reproduce.
what settings have you changed recently ?

Fresh install, new workstation, Catalina.
I set a few hotkeys, disabled sound and set default sorting to ascending. That's all changes I can recall. M |

how are you adding links? add links dialog with package name set and override package customiser setting? thats the only time in my tests that I could make it break the various setting

Nope. As I said it's a fresh install, I barely customized it yet.

can you give me a sample of your test links, maybe decrypter is setting packagename, though I think various should override that

I usually just press Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C on pages like these and let LinkGrabber separate them. LinkGrabber generate a lot of packages with a single file (and create correct packages with multiple items [same name, different type] as well), but those single files all should be under one "Various Files" package, at least they used to be. archive.org/download/ is supported by a decrypter plugin, and for /download/ package name can be set by plugin.

It was just an example to explain my "workflow"... did you got a lot of packages with a single file or did you got a "various" package with all the single files?

Hi,
Any suggestions how to fix this very annoying issue? Thanks in advance, M |

nods
I did test with standard copy of your url and letting the decrypter handle, along with what you said above highlight + copy and then paste into jd various works for me on all accounts. only issue i did find was decrypter only returned 2 results instead of 4 o_O but testing under your method as in opening in browser, and highlighting the page and copying does place everything in single packages instead of various. Maybe some bug in backend that Jiaz will need to look at. I personally do not use various, but did enable it for testing purposes with your provided url.

Hi,
Unfortunately, it's still not working like it used to be. Now some links - even though displayed as a nice package in jDownloader - downloaded right into the download directory (let's say /Download) instead of having its own directory with the package name (/Download/PackageName). In other words, every file spilled into the same directory... this is absolutely not the desired behaviour. Any advice? Thanks in advance, M |

If you still have your old \cfg folder, try with that.
Don't know when Jiaz will be back to this forum.

Hi,
I do have a cfg folder (/Applications/JDownloader 2/cfg) but I'm not sure what do you mean by "try with that"... Thanks in advance, M |

I mean, not what you are using now, but from your old pc.
Exit JD, rename \cfg folder that you are using now, copy \cfg folder from your old pc to the new pc, start JD.

Sorry.
I did not find the time for this. If you have a nice problem description for me, I can open a ticket. -psp-

Hi,
So, essentially what's happening is jDownloader creates packages (I can see them in the Link Grabber window), but it doesn't append the package name to the default download folder. So, does something like "Package name not appended to download path" make sense? It used to work fine by default. Thanks in advance, M |

Check post #3 and #4 of related topic. Under these conditions, to download the files to custom folder, you have either set it manually after the links have been added to the linkgrabber or use an eventscripter script to do it automatically. |

Hi,
I turned back on the 'Predefined Rule: Create Subfolder by Packagename' settings (it was suggested to turn it off here: https://board.jdownloader.org/showpo...2&postcount=22). So far everything works as expected: various files put in Various Files, output directory created. I don't think we need to create a ticket. Cheers, M |

I've looked into this and I've come to the conclusion that this is not a bug.
Plugins can pre-set package names and the 'upper system' will take them. The 'Various package' is designed for loose files where there is no such information. If a previous decrypter plugin says "hey I got a nice package name for my result [even if that is just a single item]", that name will be used regardless of the "Various" setting. Example where a single item will not go into the various package even with various handling enabled: Code:
drive.google.com/drive/folders/1N2ClTK2DKclxWxIYqR8doSCabQ01bmi4?usp=sharing When adding a folder with two subfolders called "test" which each contain one file, it deos not make sense for them to be merged into a "Various" package. Example where all of the added items will go into a various package: Code:
ping.online.net/50Mo.dat ping.online.net/100Mo.dat ping.online.net/200Mo.dat ping.online.net/500Mo.dat EventScripter forum thread: https://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=70525 EventScripter help article: https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...event-scripter While the ticket I linked in this thread did exist before it, the request behind it is a very very rare edge case which no user has ever requested again since then afaik. Ticket closed.
