hey can someone tell me if there is a way to use the reconnect function if you aren't using a router but a dsl cable??? the ones u connect to ur computer from a port on the wall...

There certainly is a way. You write a batch script that uses
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

Search this forum for ipconfig. If ipconfig does not work for you, you might have to use netsh.
