Question Advanced File-Saving and Sorting management

Hellooo,

I know this might be a huge request but I needed some features in JD2 and would love to suggest the idea.
I don't know if I'm allowed to talk about another software but it would be really cool to have a feature similar to what qBitorrent is doing concerning sorting and saving.

What I mean is, I've seen a lot of request on the forum to be able to move files to a desired folder once fully downloaded. I seen a lot of solution based on Event Scripter. Which is already cool.
But as qBitorrent is OpenSource, wouldn't it be great to be inspired by its saving "system" ?

Technically, I don't know but I assume that it's not that easy. But visually speaking, it's simple:
- First you can add custom categories to sort your DL.
Ex: Films | Books | Music etc etc
Your own custom categories, either you set your DL in its correct category while adding it to the list, or you can select a bunch of files in the list and move them to any category at any time.
It could be under a real "category" form, or under a tag form. I don't know what could suit you better.

- Second, each time you create a category, you can set a custom path for it.
Ex: Films category sets to end in /Downloads/JD2/Films
But you can also let the path of the category to Default if you don't want to use this sorting feature.
I see this as a great way to help sorting "easily". No endless tweaks needed to sort your files. And if it's possible to do like this, no script needed for this.
The tricky thing qBitorrent does is; each time you change a file from category, if the category has its own path, it relocates the file in the category's path in real time. I'm pretty sure it's a tricky thing.

- And last but not least, allow to have 2 different paths, for completed and unfinished downloads.
The way qBittorent show this, is like "This is your default path, but in the category option, you can set a different path. Then, you can also tick a "use a different path for incomplete downloads" that way you can setup different paths for better sorting".
You can then have something like:
/Downloads/Films (and Music and all), even the incomplete downloads are sorted
And
/Downloads/Completed/Films (and Music and all).

If I'm allowed to, I'll attach some screenshots from qBittorent to show what I mean.
EDIT: I apparently can't show images so I'll attach the links, even if the staff only can read them !

Obviously I'm not asking to copy another software. But I'm certain it would be the best new feature for JD2 as almost every users DL a looooooot of things and are dreaming about sorting them. And as qBitorrent is OpenSource, I thought it would be cool to talk about it.
If mentionning another software isn't allowed, I'm sorry, I checked the rules and didn't see such thing. If you tell me to do so, I can rewrite the suggestion without mentioning another software.

**External links are only visible to Support Staff**Example 1
Categories Panel at the side of the list

**External links are only visible to Support Staff**Example 2
Properties edit for each category

**External links are only visible to Support Staff**Example 3
Saving Management in Options' window
which allows to set the default path management mode to Auto or Manual (Auto relocating files as you move it into a category) and allows to set default complete and incomplete path.

Please let me know what do you thing about this, and have the greatest day !

You are absolutely allowed to do so

A lot of your requests have already been requested by other users so please do not be mad at me for not going into details for all of them.

It isn't planned to add this but if our Packagizer feature was working as it should, you could already do this via Packagizer aka "after completion, move filex to destination XY".
Currently the Packagizer will only move extracted files after download.

You can post images publicly visible but they need to be hosted on whitelisted image-hosts such as "snipboard.io".
All other mages and links are only visible for support staff.

No worries, getting some inspiration is fine.
I'm sure JDownloader did also inspire some other software devs.

All of your suggestions are good but also all of them have already been suggested.
We are only a small team so I wouldn't expect them to be added any time soon.
JDownloader is open source so any one willing to do so can work on new features.
