feature to only partialy download a video (first x minutes or between two timestamps)
i'm using this ffmpeg command a lot lately. i would love to see its functionality implemented in jdownloader in some form.
ffmpeg -ss 00:00:00.00 -to 00:05:00.00 -i "**External links are only visible to Support Staff** -c copy sample.mp4 it gets me samples of very large video files without downloading the whole file. it saves me a lot of traffic. it worked for me on both mp4 and mkv files, both h265 and h264. hope you think about adding this as a feature. maybe in linkgrabber video files context menu as "download sample" or "download timeframe". (if not in the gui then maybe you could just offer me advice on how to implement it another way. perhaps as an event script that only downloads the first 5 Minutes when the filename or package name contains a specific code word? right now i'm running it as a simple batch file feeding it URL and Filename. sadly i have no further coding experiences) thanks! Hmm I'm really unsure about this.
First I'd say this is an edge case and so far you're the only/first user who requested this within 10+ years. Secondly this will not even be technically possible for all media files [without downloading the complete file first] because: - Not all hosts suppoprt resume (for free users) - For some it might not be possible at all (e.g. mega.nz) Also even via EventScripter I don't see any way to implement this. I recommend checking out our source code and implementing it on your own. -psp-
