How to backup JD settings?
I ran a search for this but came up with nothing so I apologie if this question has already been answered previously.
Basically, tomorrow I have to reinstall Windows so I'm busy backing up all my program data. Is there any way to export or backup my current JD configuration (skin, premium account login/passwords, and settings) please? |

just backup your complete jd folder or only the config folder.
you can copy back your old jd installation or just restore the config folder close jd before doing any of this

Thanks for your answer. Does nothing get written to the registry when installing Jiaz?

the windows installer writes some values
but you can also install it normally, then close jd and copy back your old jd installation to same folder

This is good to know, I was wondering the same thing. My wish, for all software, is that the first thing they do is make the settings/preferences easy to export/backup and import/restore. Ideally on an automatic basis to a user-selected folders (Google Drive).
The biggest pain in re-installing an operating system, or if a program is corrupted, isn't the reinstalling of the software, but adjusting the prefences. |
