I have tried to disable av/firewall before update, but still encounter the error with same log of errors above.
and also tried look up apps installed, there is no RelevantKnowledge or PremierOpinion.

my av is McAfee.
is there any way to update JD without uninstall av?
tried to disabled av when updating but still can't, stuck at validating installation.

You should uninstall McAfee just to find out if it is causing the issue. Once you know, you can install it again. Or contact their support.
Something on your computer (most likely McAfee) is blocking connection to update server

just solved it, apparently it's because my windows didn't have Java installed.
After I installed Java, Jdownloader2 can finish the update smoothly.

That's not the cause/solution because JDownloader comes with its own bundled Java in jre/java folder. But whatever you've done, what matters is that it works now Thanks for the feedback!

I had the same problem and turns out I didn't have Java either. I did the same thing as KingZ - installed Java - and it now allows me to update.

Same answer. Java is NOT required to be installed because Java is bundled. Without Java the installer would not even run Must be something else causing this
