Adjustments to ease human captcha answering
Hello,
I want to suggest a few improvements. I hope I'm not missing anything obvious though. my "little problem" : I often download things in large numbers, some of them use captchas that I need to fulfil for downloads to begin... However I'm often near my computer but not directly looking at it when this happens resulting in large batches of "plugin error" so considering this, here's a few ideas that may be researched further to facilitate this : when it's the time to answer a captcha -remove any active screen saver -power on the screen if it sleeps -play a sound -flash the captcha window ideas for JDInfoBar -when captchas were not answered & resulted in failure something could be displayed (text could become red for example) -display the status of non downloading threads those could be optional of course, and remember these are just ideas please comment, argue or give your opinion. thanks for reading. |

I think the best solution for the captcha is an audio alert. Please read "Captcha Alert : a simple tool solution.". Several solutions have been proposed and they all work.
Also read point 19 in . |

hum thanks for that
I don't quite agree with point 11) of those ""Assorted GUI improvement recommendations" In fact I prefer the exact opposite. The captcha alert program game me the idea to do this with autohotkey programming (that is sound + wake up the screen) |

A note has been added to propose allowing audio alerts during screen saver mode. During full screen mode, I do not think people want audio alerts (interrupts a game or video).

well I can't speak for others but when I'm downloading & doing something else (game or video included) I want jdownloader to pop up/make a sound
because if jdownloader does not do that then it means my downloads will "never" finish it sure is annoying, but it beats delaying downloads ... |

I'd also like JD to tell me which download a captcha is related to.
-- the host, package and exact link. If I know that a set of links is going to require manual captcha entry, I may prefer to just disable them and find a mirror. But if I have a lot of packages on the screen, I can only guess which is the most likely to be requiring a captcha. |

I don't think it even says it's coming from JD, other people using my PC while JD is running in the background see mystifying popups and think that it's been infested with a virus. |

this is really a specific issue/request that has nothing to do with : "Adjustments to ease human captcha answering" which is the subject of this very thread

Anyway, I'm sure the developers are capable of understanding and evaluating both our independent suggestions. |

Both recommendations have been incorporated into the bug tracker in the past. They are waiting for the developers to have time.
In the meantime, the Sound on Captcha pop-up is available from more than one user, as an external script. |
