Bumping the thread to let people know there was an update to the iOS app pushed out recently.

Here are the release notes for anyone interested:

• Set up push notifications for almost anything that happens in JDownloader including downloads started and downloads finished
• Simplified the widget
• Confirmation alerts before deleting or resetting your downloads
• Fixed issue with only showing a limited number of downloads
• Package renaming
• Move downloads to a new package
• Fixed a lot of common crashes

Hey there Simon, hey there community,

so i allready enjoy downloading stuff with JD for a very long time. My NAS now, brought me also the possibility or necessity for MyJdownloader. So far it is running really great. For thet fact i also wanted to use some remote JD-Control. there is the App for Android that is working so well. But i`m a iOS-User. So i also came in the joy to get the MyJdownlaoder Remot App. I also bought the In-App-Purchase. So first. Thanks Fimon for the App. It looks nice and is doing what it should. Besides tha fact i can`t use Click`n`load neither insert any DLC. Sometimes i read it is working, a lot of people are saying it`s not. So what is the status? I would realy appreciate this Option, cause without that, the App has no use and i paid the 4€, that i can not get back.

Is the Probelm with the app or only on my phone?

Hi all iOS users

v1.5.2 was just pushed to the AppStore.

It has a small Apple watch app that lists all online JDownloaders and allows you to see download speeds, package/link info etc...

There is offline link storage as requested. Use the share extension from other apps to store links for later.

Hi all

A new version was released today with support for iPhone 12 / iPhone 12 Pro screen resolutions.

The app will now re-connect silently when re-launching the app from a backgrounded state.

I will update the again again soon with some minor UI issues fixed. A kind JDownloader user has made a dark mode icon for the app so that will also be included.

Please give the app a review if you like it.

Haven't been on in a while so sorry I never replied.

I'm planning on spending some time now on rebuilding the iOS app from scratch, probably even releasing a new android app, too, as I work with react-native these days.

Reg. CNL:

I might look into a Safari extension at some point in the future, but Safari on iOS denies the use of the 'webRequest' api, so the extension isn't able to listen to posts to localhost. If there's no way to intercept the post call, I don't know how else to accomplish it using an extension.

What I can do is start a local http server, much like the official android app would do. Unfortunately, another limitation of iOS is background processing time. Android can listen to CNL's indefinitely using a foreground service, but iOS will never offer this.

So best I can do is this flow:
1) open the MyJD app and the CNL server will start.
2) Switch app to Safari and you get 25 to 30 seconds to do your CNL before the server is killed

I’m not sure if the iOS app is affiliated in anyway, but either way someone here might have the answer… I’m all set up and using it fine, but, what does ‘save for later’ do when you’re ‘sharing’ a link with jdownloader, how do I find those links again afterwards?

There's a little folder icon next to the '+' link button on the collector screen. Any links you save for later will appear in there.

In the new version of the app, coming soon, this will be moved to the dashboard. There's a new 'Shared links and text' navigable from the dashboard, where any links & text shared from other apps will be stored until you want to send it to your JDownloader.

Today I got the new Version on iOS. Looks nice.
But what I missed…in the old version I could send downloaded dlc files direct to Jdownloader (with Chrome), now I have to download it, open jd remote and have to open it in jd remote.
And a other thing, sometime the colour of fonts are bad readable, for example I have the light mode, click on „Direct Connection“, the font is bad to read.

I agree, the old way of handling DLC was better. The only reason I didn't include it was because I don't know how to do it within react native / expo, which the app is written in now. I will spend some more time looking into this.

I think the alert colours are broken when the theme is set to follow system. That's an easy fix so I can do that later. Apple will spend the usual 2 days reviewing it though :(

Diese Frage ist etwas off topic. Ich möchte sie aber gleichwohl stellen und hoffe, dass der eine oder andere iPhone User mir weiterhelfen kann.

Ich benutze die App Myjownloader auf dem iPad.

Bis zum kürzlichen großen Update der App (aktuell: V2.06) war es möglich, dlc container über den "Teilen" Button an die App zu senden. Dies funktioniert nun nicht mehr. Die App wird nach Druck auf den Button teilen nicht mehr angeboten.

Kann ich in iOS die Verknüpfung von Dateien mit der Endung .dlc mit der App wiederherstellen? Oder handelt es sich um einen Bug in der App, den der Entwickler fixen muss?

@Simon: there are some projects that provide native modules for sharing support, maybe check those, not official ones.

I will begin to look at this feature over the weekend, as it seems it is desired. It can definitely be done in react native cli, however I make use of a feature called expo prebuild in the app, which makes this a little more complex. This is from their website:

"This (expo prebuild) creates the android and ios directories for running your React code. If you modify the generated directories manually then you risk losing your changes the next time you run npx expo prebuild --clean. Instead, you should create config plugins — functions that perform modifications on native projects during prebuild."

So, in short, adding this feature would require the existence of a config plugin that makes the required changes on the native projects after prebuild. I haven't been able to find any open source code for it, as I guess it's quite a niche thing to need.

I will write the code and open source it though, it'll just take me a little time.

Hi guys. v2.1.1 is now published to the AppStore and GooglePlay.

It includes the DLC option as requested, so you can now open DLC files from other apps. On iOS, you can simply press on the DLC in the files app and MyJD will open, no need to select share. In other scenarios, and on Android, the usual share sheet will present allowing you to select MyJD.

Along with that, kind volunteers have translated the app into German, Spanish, French, Italian and Chinese.

Viewing and setting package priority is also re-added, as it was missing in v2, as well as the 'start extract now' option.

There's a new 'send automatically' CNL option. If this is selected, when using CNL, it will be sent to the first online JDownloader automatically, and started automatically too. If it's unselected, the CNL will be stored in the app as before so you can choose what JDownloader / add package config to use.

However, I do have a major issue with it and I don't know why it's happening.
I no longer am being prompted to solve a captcha.

On the old version, I would get a notification and sound when a new captcha needed to be solved.
Now, it's dead silent and I only see it when I open the app.
As you understand, this is a big issue for me.

In the settings of my iPhone, all notifications/badges are turned on so in theory it should be able to send me notifications.

While I'm writing this message I just found out the cogwheel on the main page are the app settings, whereas the cogwheel with "settings" text on the actual Jdownloader page is where you enable notifications. Silly me Solved

In the MyJD settings some links are also broken:
Can you help translate... doesn't work when clicked.
Same for Support/Contact dev.

I'm glad it's working as expected for you now. I've had another user report the contact option not working in settings, perhaps you're using an old version of iOS? if possible, would you be able to let me know what device & OS you're using?

On another topic. If anyone is using the Android app, would you mind giving it a review if you're satisfied with it? Only got 1 star reviews so far, which is unfortunate. If the feedback from Android users continues in this way, I think I will just remove it.

My iPhone is getting too old so I'm no longer receiving the newest iOS version (17).
It's an iPhone X on iOS 16.7.7

I was wondering if you might consider making either a version of it for mac, or as a chrome/browser extension?

It works so fluidly and makes sending links from multiple pages/tabs super easy on mobile, I'd love the same experience on desktop (my instance of JDownloader runs headless on a NAS).

I'm glad you like the new version of the app! I don't have any plans right now to make a native version of the app for Mac.

However, I believe you can install the app directly from the AppStore on your Mac, and it will use the iPad version. I've never done it so I don't know how it performs or looks, but it might work.

Maybe one day I will spend some time optimising the layout better for larger screens so it works better on iPad/mac.

I'm quickly stealing this thread to provide feedback to your MyJD Android app.

I've recently tested your MyJD Android app and the TL;DR is: Awesome!
I'd also like to provide detailed feedback on some bugs I found including detailed information on how to reproduce them.

1. Bug when switching the app-language.
Switch the language e.g. from German to Chinese and back.
Now some GUI elements will stay Chinese until the app is restarted.

2. Slowdowns and crashes when navigating the settings.
Navigate to the main menu settings.
Now select a setting such as "Change language", then inside the list of settings/languages/actions, scroll up and down a bit, then close them again without changing/confirming anything.
Do this multiple times if needed, then one of the following things will happen:
- App is unresponsive and scrolling inside settings doesn't work anymore. You can go back with the back button and re-enter the settings but scrolling is still broken.
- App is still responsive but if you hit any other setting, it doesn't show up - all settings buttons lose functionality
- App crashes

That's it for now.
