Default Anyone for an Upload limiter ?...

did any one think of imlementing such limit in JD ? controlling the TCP acks upload ? It might be good for async connections to help you free some bandwidth for other apps...

Or it might be not required at all...

no need for this at all. your upload is more than enough to download with full speed limiting upload is only important for *uploading*.
besides its not possible to slow down the ack from normal software and it would be very bad idea because it will throttle downloadspeed aswell

ok ... now, can I get my 2 cents back ? ...

btw: most people here have 1:10 connections, so the ~5% TCP upload is not negligable...

you cannot download highspeed and not have upload at all
even downloading fullspeed you still have enough upload available!

you cannot download at full speed when upload is not enough.

Cool

I think Jiaz is right. This is only useful for tools like torrent clients where you have to set an upload cap close to your upload bandwidth, because otherwise you can't optimise your download speed with these clients nor with any other tools that are running concurrently.
