what 4 files we are talking about?
did you move jd to c:\jdownloader
do you have kaspersky? i ask because not properly setup firewall/virusscanner can cause update trouble
please be sure you added java.exe and javaw.exe to the exclude list of your firewall

i do have kaspersky but it been working fine since like 0.5 so i don't think it's kaspersky fault as this is the first update problem i have encountered.

i have jd on the desktop

kaspersky i knew it, you are the fifth today with kaspersky and update problem, after adding java.exe and javaw.exe to the exclude list and enable every exclusion it worked fine for everyone

we always recommend this for kaspersky users, becuase on kaspersky its pure luck if it runs without any setup. having problems after an update is normal when not properly setup kaspersky. do it and it will work fine again.
