Default JDownloader Creating Folders

I just had to reinstall JDownloader and all of a sudden it's creating a separate folder within my designated download folder for my file.
How can I stop this?

Thank You

Hi
Settings --> Packagizer --> Disable "Predefined Rule: Create Subfolder by Packagename"

Thx, but I never enabled that. It suddenly created those folders.

@niemand: check if you don't have the subfolder placeholder within your default download folder
also please don't forget that changes in packagizer will only affect new links. Existing links in list are not changed

I just had the same problem and I never reinstalled JD.
It just suddenly started and only by finding this thread could I stop it.
I never changed the setting as I wouldn't even know where that was
but I suspect an update changed the default setting.

@Patr100
defaults haven't changed, though

more likely that

you changed it by mistake, its only a checkbox in package customiser,
or
either cleanup software removes files it thinks are not used
or
security software could remove them,

with the latter two JD will then re-create config with default value.

I've got that option disabled yet for subsequent new downloads it still keeps forcing sub folders for some downloads. I think, I hope it is now reset again for now ...will monitor.

Don't know why is suddenly keeps doing this after years of use and not having added any new security programs lately., however I certainly notice there have been quite a few JD updates in the last couple of weeks.

I haven't changed any settings for years. The subfolder for packages
(when enabled) is automatically created within my default download folder as I would expect,
I havent added any extra folders.

ie /downloads (for normal direct files)
/downloads / <jd> package name

@Patr100: I'm sorry but what exactly is the problem?
Either you have the
Quote:
<jd:packagename>
pattern in your download folder (check default downloadfolder AND the download folder in your AddLinks dialog.
or you have the *subfolder* rule in packagizer enabled.

I was merely trying to answer your last question which was IMO ambiguous.

I haven't got either enabled so there is currently no issue but as I said
I will monitor it.

This has been still annyoing me in the past few months, googled and disabled that packagizer rule again (because I meanwhile forgot about this thread). Today got those folders again, checked packagizer and that rule was active, not by my doing.

I just want to get rid of that damn subfolders and have consitant behaviour.

I can't reprocude it, it just happens. Today all 4 standard settings in Packagizer were checked again, I disabled two of them at the date of my last post. Only thing I noticed was the "updating" message when starting JD today.

maybe read/write or ownership permissions are incorrect?
