Default mega.nz Bug: "Traffic left - Temporary disabled"

After i have added my mega account credentials in myjd Settings -> Account Manager, the traffic left column for mega.nz says Temporary disabled. Furthermore, if i try adding any mega url to download, it gets stuck with the Status column reporting a Waiting time of approx 55 mins. Mine is a Mega Business account if that helps.

@xd003: Please provide a debug log, see https://support.jdownloader.org/de/k...d-session-logs
Enable Debug Mode, restart JDownloader and reproduce/wait for the issue and then create log and post the shown logID

Sure, here it is
27.01.25 16.51.30 <--> 27.01.25 16.54.22 jdlog://9758411370661/

Steps involved
1) Enabled Debug logs and restarted jdownloader
2) Added mega.nz account in myjd Settings -> Account Manager,
Click on the refresh button and notice the traffic left column change to Temporary Disabled
3) Added a mega.nz link to download which had a 59 min+ waiting time
4) Select this particular session and upload the log

Same error also reported by other users

Try mentioned workaround:

Could you please log in using a browser and then try logging in via MEGA CMD again?
Note: this has worked fine for myself, at least for the moment

Also you should contact mega support and let them know about this issue, best is to link
reddit.com/r/MEGA/comments/1hmefp9/unable_to_login_using_megacmd_hangs/ as they have commented there

I guess some faulty changes to their api

I was able to reproduce this server side problem and I can confirm that the workaround mentioned on reddit does indeed work.
For testing, I've used a free mega.nz account.

I've updated our mega plugin to display this workaround as account error message whenever http status code 402 happens.

Addendum:
I've just looked into the mega.nz website login and indeed, when entering wrong login credentials, they also return response code 402.
Technically, that is the wrong http code to express "invalid login".

My theory is that they had major problems with stolen accounts so they reacted and changed the login in a way that it returns less information.
Now it works like this:
Website:
- Invalid email and/or password: error 402
- Valid credentials: success
API:
- Invalid email and/or password: error 402
- Valid credentials: First try with current IP: Error 402 -> Website login mandatory
- Valid credentials: Next try with current IP after website login was completed: Success

This also means that at this moment, JDownloader and other tools which are using the API cannot tell whether the entered credentials are invalid or a browser login is needed to "make them valid".

We will see if MEGA will change this again or if that is their permanent solution.

I've updated the error message which our plugin displays to "Error 402 API denied login! Logout & login once via browser, then retry here.".
