JD install directory is self contained, so you will need 3 seperate installations. alternatively you could cp / paste your existing installation and rename them to get your outcome.

@jeonje: Just duplicate this folder and then you'll have several installations that you can use/run concurrently. JDownloader installation is complete and portable, only requires Java

USING ON MAC OS,
1. so no interference like system files, registry, settings, preference related to jdownlaoder app duplication to multiple main folder duplication running different version of jdownlaoder2 individually. 2. Is this practice recommended. |

1) no
2) I wouldn't say its perfect situation, but others (very low numbers presented in the past, I make this statement from people mentioning this use case when they open support issues) have been doing this for years for what ever reasons. The only side effects are client side apis run on the first instance (clicknload/flashgot), and use of overheads by running the same app multiple times vs once.

Am on Mac.
1. best approach to factory reset everything back to default settings. 2. In cfg folder there are multiple set of downloadlist.zip and linkcollector.zip are these two files the main files to backup if I wasn't to import all the download list and link collector list from my current app to new fresh jdownloader app. If yes then do I just copy all these files downloadlist22.zip, downloadlist33.zip, downloadlist55.zip, linkcollector22.zip, linkcollector99.zip, linkcollector222.zip to the new cfg folder from other fresh installation. 3. Will moving these above files to cfg folder on another installation also merge the download list and link collector list from previous app and current new installation app. |

@jeonje:
1.) factory reset -> clear cfg folder and everything is gone (no links, no settings, no accounts) 2.) highest number is current version of the list. previous are older versions/backups because JDownloader uses copy-on-write. Write new list, keep x older versions. Copying over those files will NOT merge nor guarantee JDownloader to load it. JDownloader loads highest number and then checks previous one in case of errors. We've already explained in other thread how to load/import those lists 3.) moving will not merge but replace the existing settings/accounts... you cannot use that method to merge two installations. merging of list is already talked through

Dear Dev tried to run 2 instances of jd2 on MAC, the 1st is already running and when I tried to open 2nd JD2 app it doesn't open.
- I followed your steps by copying the 1st JD2 main whole folder to new location then deleted the cfg and cfg backup folder and tried to open the jd2. |

This is the exact step I followed : Am using MAC OS Ventura
1. Main JD2 is already open and downloading YouTube video. 2. I went to USER> bin> JDownloader 2.0.220930 then copied the entire folder 'JDownloader 2.0.220930' to another location then Deleted 2 folder named CFG & CFG_BACKUP. 3. Then Opened the JD2 app from new location by double clicking and nothing happened. possible reasons: The new folder is inside the same root folder bin but in different subfolder for example : 1. USER > BIN > JDownloader 2.0.220930 2. USER > BIN > NEW INSTALL > JDownloader 2.0.220930 |

@jeonje: tested it the exact same way, working perfectly fine here.
1.) USER > BIN > JDownloader 2.0.220930 2.) create folder NEW INSTALL in USER > BIN 3.) copy USER > BIN > JDownloader 2.0.220930 to USER -> BIN -> NEW INSTALL 4.) start USER > BIN > NEW INSTALL -> JDownloader 2.0.220930 5.) start USER > BIN > JDownloader 2.0.220930 tested it several times and could easily create/run multiple copies of JDownloader that way

did you run 2 jd2 app together simultaneously side by side or one at a time, my problem is the second jd2 app doesn't open while the first jd2 app is running. Can't run both app at the same time.

@jeonje
I'd suggest doing a Teamviewer session with us to get this resolved quickly.
