Default direct links

jdownloader seems to have a problem with pretty normal downloads like this one

**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**
or this one
**External links are only visible to Support Staff**sakindia123.prophecy.li/counter/click.php?id=19

it always says the file is offline

Can't find the plugin for Megagames, I'll move this to Suggestions & Requests.

i mean shouldn't jd deal with such links without any plugins when a browser doesn't need one?

Megagames link that you posted is not a direct download, it displayed a page that we can click to download. The other one is direct download, but it seems JD is still having problem with it. Wait for developer feedback.

The first one isn't directdownload. it leads to a website where you have to click.
Meaning: this one needs a hosterplugin. if you want one, please create a new thread and ask for it and provide some example links

The second one works fine, you just have to
1.) add .jdeatme at the end of the link
or
2.) direct**External links are only visible to Support Staff** JDownloader does not find any known file extension in this link, thats why its not automatic handling it.

The download managers of most browsers don't care at all about the extensions of files. jD only downloads files that have an extension it already knows.

These are the facts. I don't like this situation either.

because Browser knows if the link is a downloadable file or not! The user clicks on a link and the browser should handle the click and process the link...show the page or download

but if you copy a link into clipboard...jd cannot download everything it grabs...this will result in many useless requests and can result in ddos. because it doesnt make much sense to try to download every link...which will result in many many html files in linkgrabber...do you want that?

That's why jD has a LinkGrabber. It tells the customer what the links are and whether they are potentially downloadable. jD doesn't download them automatically as long as they aren't moved to the Download queue.

I don't use clipboard monitoring, but shouldn't this be an option for people who add links manually to jD?

but for directDownloads a request is done to the server
i will add the possibility to customize the directdownload feature..eg setting rulez what links to treat as directdownloads and so on...

will add option to treat unknown links as directdownload in manual linkadding

That's exactly what is needed. The 'eatme' solution is too cumbersome. If you like you can put "Eat me" (not 'team') on the button.

The "deep crawling" is also a good solution because it needs an additional click.

the simple decrypter will allow you to set your own regex strings which then can port into say directhttp plugin, or any of the other plugins existing regex. Basically it can replace existing decrypter plugins that are simply scanning for strings (links) of our existing hoster regex. We will still need decrypter plugins for complicated tasks, eg. multiple step process, including captcha etc.

That's nice. As a simple jD customer I feel honoured by this simple decrypter but I think it should be classified as an advanced feature.

Yes, any feature that eats anything except the A-Team is an improvement.

Only as advanced as say package customiser. The interface shouldn't be any harder (to understand or use) than that, but you will still need understanding of JDownloader functions and regular expressions or wildcards to be able to set something up that wont return false positives
