Default chocolatey support

i'd love to see a maintained package of jdownloader for chocolatey

since it has a non-standard installer it seems to be a little more cumbersome to package it...

I'd go out on a limb and say we wont be supporting this ourselves. Though there have been other groups that manage packages (say for linux) that do this themselves, this shouldn't prevent someone doing the same for chocolatey.

traditional windows installers provide
- terms and conditions && licence agreements
- path of installation customisation
- program itself
- shortcuts, desktop/quickstart/startmenu
- registry setting (file associations, firewall entries) all on user consent.

i don't quite get why you are telling me this

i'm not building an installer. chocolatey is supposed to download the webinstaller from your site and click itself through it automatically. in regular installers this is not a problem but here you have to deal with something like autohotkey to wait untill the downloads are done and then click next.

It would be easier if you just created your own installer vs automated clicking as you're trying todo. Our installers change all the time, and it depends on geographical location to installer you get && the selection prompts you get && location of buttons determined by system default language. Just not sure how successful it would be, that was all. Guess if you used static non multilingual installer it would eliminate some of those issues.

the only issue i have are the buttons. myhotkey can find buttons by name (like "next") or by index ("button1", "button2"). but in the webinstaller this is not possible so i actually have to work with x and y coordinates which, as you said, can cause problems (i can't even manage to make it click properly).

the other thing is that i'm willing to maintain the package but i'm not willing to maintain the installer. also since the idea of chocolatey is to not be dependent on installers.
