Plugin work but...

It is better if it shows an error code than "Outdated Plugin"

Thanks for your answer. That does make sense with respect to the first 90% of the download - but then why does it slow down in the last 10%?
And why does JD show me the little /!\ sign that tells me I should go get a premium account? (The link leads nowhere, and does YT premium even exist?)

JDownloader downloads video stream first, then audio. Audio stream is limited. I guess to avoid audio leechers ;(
I will fix the ! sign issue

Default Youtube Individual Containers

Hello, I recently re-installed Jdownloader 2 and it's been forever since I have messed with my youtube settings so I am having an issue which is probably easy to fix I just can't find the correct settings.

The issue I have is when I add multiple Youtube videos they go into Linkgrabber in individual containers. Even if i add a playlist, they all go in their separate containers. I've narrowed down the options to only allow one best quality mp4 video available, but it is still making individual containers for each. Any help?

Fetching DASH-streams currently does not work. When DASH-feature is enabled, JD2 is repeatedly trying to get the streams, which fails for some reason. Only the normal variants like MP4_720 and MP4_360 are collected and listed in LinkGrabber.

HTTP-requests for all the DASH-streams end up with 404 Not Found or 500 Internal Server Error.

Downloading the DASH-streams with youtube-dl works.

Happening with build "Wed Feb 17 17:28:47 CET 2016"/core #32896 and newer.

Just guessing, because this video uses a different type of streaming.

Default 2 Youtube Problems, HD video

Hey guys,

there are 2 problems with the Youtube Plugin:

1st: when I download a 1080p Video, it grabs the video correctly but doesn't join the audio anymore. Instead, JD asks to download the "file again", but grabs audio and saves as separate mp4 file. This happens since yesterday.

2nd, older problem: When I download both 720p and 1080p, the audio on 1080p is low quality bitrate AAC, while the audio on the 720p is much higher bitrate AAC. This is not new, found this months ago.

Thanks for support, keep up the good work!

@davidr17:
1.) Please provide logfiles https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...d-session-logs and post logID here
2.) is no issue. 720p exists as DASH and standalone MP4. The standalone mp4 has different aac quality, because it cannot be changed on the fly. The DASH version (1080) has multiple audio qualities and youtube decides max bitrate depending on input material

So I guess the only way to put the high bitrate audio on the 1080p file would be to download both, demux the 720p file and mux the audio together with the 1080p video. Would that actually improve quality, or is the DASH audio still the closest to the source (and the 720p one just re-encoded at a higher bitrate)?

DASH is closer to original. 720p non dash seems to use fixed bitrate (independant on source material)

Default Youtubes Images

Hello

As for the site Soundcloud, the original image is also available for YT pages, so the (BQ). But do not offer JD2 when the link to the "maxresdefault" image is not included in the page source. While sometimes it is actually still available.

Would it be possible to include automatically link to those pictures which are available or not, as you already do for soundcloud pictures "original"?

Thank you in advance :-)

Can you please provide example links? By default the youtube plugin already shows available images. Check Settings-Plugins->search for youtube

And also for "default variants" i added (BQ) but it never worked...

Eg page with the problem:
**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**
and does not offer the image (BQ) as it is available:

Hmm. My JDownloader shows the preview pic available in list. Sure you have set JDownloader to also crawl the images and not enabled any filters?

Try to reset your youtube settings. For me I get the preview image. Or do you talk about a different image?

You are The (BQ) image proposal without having to put the direct link to the image "maxresdefault" ?

JDownloader automatically offers the preview image from the video. When you add the link it will show all available downloads, depending on the plugin settings.
Do you mean a different image than the preview image?

In fact, he does not do it and my settings are set to "maximum" quality...

In that special case the link i showed you it does not offer the (bq) but just the (hq).
Whereas when the link "maxresdefault" is in the source then the JD2 also porpose
but it is not always in the source so that it is available if you put the direct link for it.
In other case "normal case" the (bq) image proposed directly if is present in the YT source page
At least that's what I've noticed so far ;-)

Hi,

I've got the same problem as davidr17 (downloading of 1080p files end up in 2 mp4):

I want to be able to view videos offline with that panning ability.

Is there a way to download 360 degree VR videos like how it is displayed in Youtube with that compass thing in the top left corner?

Sample video:

Hey, thanks for answering.
1.) Log-ID is 26.02.16 01.56.27 <--> 26.02.16 01.57.39 jdlog://3493542995541/
and my sample clip was **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

JD downloads 1080p, after that it asks "file exists, what to do?". I click "rename" and then it downloads audio as an mp4 with the same title _2.
Before that bug, JD downloaded audio and muxed it together. My settings are "always download best video quality"

2.) thanks for clarifying! Then I know, that I'll get better audio quality when downloading the 720p version.
You can check the quality itself with SPEK and see how 720p and 1080p differs: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**
Awesome free software for every media file BTW. Just drop any audio or video on it, good to discover fake 320kbps mp3's
(Oh, link is greyed out here, sorry didn't know that. Google for SPEK Acoustic Spectrum Analyser, it's free.)

The 720p has definitely the higher quality, goes way up higher in frequencies, check with SPEK as mentioned above.

@minixbox
youtube player provides this interface, you will need to find a media player that offers similar features. JDownloader only downloads content.

@quarck @davidr17

I found 2 players that has that feature to play video that way but quality looks much better viewing on Youtube set to 4K, is the video grabbed correctly at highest resolution? That video downloaded as only 204MB only for a video 2m 32s in length in 4K resolution, seems a bit low?

For other users interested in the players I found, here are 2 links:
**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** Kolor Player
**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** VR Player @ codeplex

Kolor player didn't work for me, only shows black screen but the other player worked.

@Jiaz: Thanks for filing an issue. The 1080p issue is solved with the latest update, but the same bug still appears at 480p clips :(
