Cannot connect youtube account
Hi,
I'm trying to add my youtube account to the account manager but I always get "Cannot check account" error. I am using 2-step authentication but I never get anything on my phone to confirm sign-in. I have tried using the "app passwords" feature (**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**) but that doesn't work either. What can I do to get my youtube account working with JDownloader? |

@MousE0910: Please create a debug log. Go to Settings-Advanced Settings- search for debug and enable log debug. Restart JDownloader. try to add account and after error, create a log, see https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...d-session-logs and post logID here

Youtube Video won't load video file in Jdownloader LinkGrabber
So I've been trying to download this video
**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** It's called "[SFM] Pinkie Pie is a Sexy Fish (meme)" - it's a silly stupid pony mermaid video. Anyways, the linkgrabber on Jdownloader picks up everything I want except for the video file. See the attached image to see what I'm dealing with. This issue only happens on this Youtube video. All other videos on YouTube seem to work fine with Jdownloader. It's just this one video I'm having problems with. Can someone verify that they can or cannot grab this specific video on LinkGrabber? I want to see if it's a problem on my end or if it's a problem with the program. |

The video is encoded with 3D flag and therefore only shows up when you have enabled 3d videos in Settings-Plugins-search for youtube, scroll down.
Alternative you can rightclick and add new variant

Oh thanks! That was my problem. I didn't realize this video was encoded with 3D. It didn't look 3D to me. Now that I added the 3D setting I was able to get it to work.

It's not 3D but during encoding it might happen that the uploader forgot to disable the 3d flag or something like that. in that case the video is marked as 3d and therefore not listed as 2d video

I've had success with JDownloader now prompting me for code from Google and my phone does show prompt to sign in. However, my phone simply has a yes/no prompt and JDownloader expects a code. Even if I select yes on phone and click ok on Jdownloader, my account doesn't authenticate. |

I'm trying to download a bunch of videos from Youtube and I noticed that when they reach 95% the download slows down dramatically (from 900kb/s to 40kb/s). Is that a youtube limitation or a bug?

Stream is split in video/audio. By default yt assigns real required bandwidth(bitrate).
Settings-Advanced Settings-search for bypass

I have a problem with this youtube video:
**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** After it reaches the 100% it just continues downloading. I'm downloading the 2160p 25fps version. UPDATE: if you wait enough it finishes. The detected size is 1.91 GiB and the actual downloaded bytes are 3.45 GiB. @dbkarm
hls based download filesize is estimate, it can be way larger. You just need to wait until it finishes.

Hi, I've had issues with using more data than being downloaded for a while, but put it off as a random issue, but this week I wanted to to download some large files (about 150gb ), I ended up using 150gb of my internet data, but I only really downloaded about 75gb, half of the files.
For example, one of the vids is 11gb, at 6gb mark there was some host connection problems, then it just started over again and the 6gb part file was deleted. Another file is 18gb, and there is an 18gb part file in the folder, but in JD it shows at 0%, if I resume/force start it, it starts downloading, then after about 1gb progress, the part file is still 18gb and not increasing.... I copied it to another folder and changed ext. to mp4, the video played but with no sound. So what exactly is happening? Will it d/l the whole 18gb again? Why do some yt videos resume but others not? I think this could be why I'm using so much data, but not actually seeing the files fully completed in the folders, it might be downloading, losing connection, re-downloading etc etc.. I'm confused. |

@JUpunpacker
HLS download routine doesn't resume, thus will start from beginning if the download fails raztoki

@JUpunpacker: can you please provide example links? for such large videos?
As raztoki already explained, HLS does not yet support resume

HLS?
I was just trying to d/l normal 4k test vids to try out. The one that does not resume: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** This one shows resume icon, but not sure if it really resumes: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** But what about the 18gb part file ( second link)? every time I restart the download, it downloads but the part file does not increase, and no new part file is created, so what exactly is happening, and is it possible to get the sound without re downloading the whole 18gb again? Thanks |
#2742
|
||||
|
||||
First one does not (yet) support resume because it uses HLS instead of single files.
Second one should resume just fine. Please provide a logfile, then we can tell more https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...d-session-logs and post shown logID here. Did you change max connections during/after download?

I dont understand?
when I add a youtube link (like this) **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** to jdownloader and enable subtitle detection in youtube plugin then it shows this "Subtitle : English" if I add some other video that doesnt have subtitle in english or has no subtitle and just has the speech2text subs then it says: "Subtitle :Speed2sub" or sometimes it says nothing and those are also auto-generated. so jdownloader knows which one is actual uploaded subtitle. that is what I need. I need it to show subtitle option only when it is uploaded by user and not autogenerated. |

@rezad
this is new, when I made that comment jd grabbed the first subtitle within the that translation. Jiaz recently added subtitle options, please scroll back you will find history within the last few pages.

all the other people are askin for all the subtitles but what I ask it to be shown only regular (not autogenerated one) in english only. that's all. and if the video doesnt have that subtitle I want it to not show any other subtitle link. the sad part is that youtube has added this on its own on the website , so if I open the webpage for the video I can see the subtitles under the video windows listed. and if no subs is there it says not subtitle (used to do that with user-scripts but now youtube does it). but jdownloader cant do that. "skipped downloads"
Every now and then I'll come across a youtube video that doesn't want to get grabbed by JD2.
I paste in the linkgrabber and it scans, and then just stops. The "Skipped Downloads!" icon shows up in the bottom right. It says to click it to retry, but that doesn't seem to do anything. I update to the latest version, restart...still won't grab. I've never been able to figure out what causes it or if those videos have anything in common...nor how to make them work. Latest example: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** Any ideas? |

@traverig: Skipped Icon has nothing to do with crawling but comes from downloads
Please create a debug log, go to Settings-Advanced Settings, search for debug and enable log debug and restart JDownloader Then try to add the link, then create log https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...d-session-logs and post logID here

@traverjg: Log does not contain a single error. Just that you tried to crawl links that already existed in list.
Log shows that link got processed and links were found/added to list

YouTube download speed problem
I'm having trouble with YouTube downloads (I'm not including a link because the trouble is essentially with every video I attempt to download). The download often hangs up at the start with a Host Offline? error, then, after a reset, it will start, and it starts reasonably fast, say, 3 megabits per second. But almost immediately the speed starts to drop, and it drops fast. After a few seconds, the speed drops sometimes as low as 65 kilobits per second (!), but more often to around 200 kilobits per second. There are almost no exceptions to this behavior. A download that should take maybe 1 minute to download quickly becomes a download that takes 5 or 10 minutes or more!
For comparison, I also use SMTube for single YouTube video downloads. A single video usually downloads at speeds between 3 and 5 megabits per second, and the speed sometimes drops some, but not dramatically. This is a huge difference, and the fact that SMTube works well suggests that it's not a problem with my machine or internet connection, but rather with JDownloader's interaction with YouTube. Anybody else seeing such behavior? Thanks... |

I'm sorry if it was reported already, but:
JDownloader doesnt detect the VP9 videos anymore. Just the bad quality h.264 variants :( edit: Seems to be video specific **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** This one I'm just offered H.264 **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** This one I get VP9 offered. Maybe the problem with the first one is the missing Opus audio? (AAC so far) Last edited by De-M-oN; 14.11.2017 at 21:15. |

Thanks, Jiaz. That bypass settings change has immediately made a difference, putting the JD downloads from YouTube into the same speed range as the SMTube downloads. That's a real help! Annoyed that I didn't say something about this sooner!

I really think it was because the Opus Audio was missing. Now Opus was encoded too and now it is also in JD.
So the appearance of the webm qualities into JD seem to depend on Opus Audio being present. |
