MEGA.co.nz downloads very slow and limited
Until just a few hours ago, my downloads from MEGA were fine. All are downloading at max speed and multiple connections and multiple downloads.
Everything became slow and limited after JDownloader2 updated itself. Now my MEGA downloads are at most 10KB/s with 1 connection per download only. Assumptions: 1. No internet problem. I tried downloading other files from other hosts and all were good. 2. MEGA did not block my IP address or something like that. I downloaded multiple MEGA files using Google Chrome and they were all faster than JDownloader2. 3. I use default settings. I only tweaked download dir path, max chunks and max sim downloads Question: Was the MEGA plugin recently updated? |

Please post example links and no, the mega plugin has not been changed!
We're using the MEGA API - maybe they restrict downloads via the API - that would not be cool. GreeZ psp

I thought I got restricted by MEGA but I was able to download one of the files at 250KB/s via Google Chrome. Thanks for taking a look. |

Just started 3 of these links with 3 chunks each and after waiting like 20 seconds, I had like 900+ KB/s.
Max speed here is about 1,2 MB/s so if IU waited longer I'd probably get full speed. Have you tried reconnecting (in case you got a dynamic IP)? Do you get better speeds with a new IP? Do you download a lot from MEGA? How much GB do you download per day? Is it always faster via browser than via JD? GreeZ psp

I download a lot via MEGA (Around 3-5GB per day) and always using JD2. I only tried via browser when JD2 finished only a 200MB file after being left alone for 4 hours today.
Usual case, i achieve total 300+KB/s (my ISP max) using JD2 whether it is a single or multiple files. This is the first time it slowed down. I have dynamic IP but i can't force change it for some reason. My ISP gives me the same one even if I restart my modem/release IP. I can only get a new one after being offline for at least 2 hours. I'll try again later after I managed to change IP and post if anything changes. Thanks. |

Okay but I can already tell you that, even if they limit the API, there is not much we can do about it but its more likely that the problems are caused by:
-Slow MEGA servers -Your ISP -Firewall/AV scanner -Speedlimit accidently enabled in JD?! GreeZ psp

@aldrinkhan
do you have pause mode enabled or speed limiter enabled? there will be red line in the speed graphic saying 10KiB/sec. I say this because 10KiB/sec is the default speed limit setting in JDownloader, and many users complain about slow speeds without checking that they might have applied speed limiter.

1st test:
Changed into a different connection. I tethered my mobile connection. I was able to download at max speed via JD 2nd test: I slept and turned off my net. When I turned it back on my IP was changed already. Now everything seems to be working fine again. My conclusion, it seems that I have downloaded too much for the past few hours / days. MEGA limited my downloads for some reason via IP and if affected downloads via JD but downloading via browser(Chrome with MEGA extension) was able to bypass that limited downloading. I did check the pause mode. It wasn't enabled. Same thing with speed limiter. Part of my initial check before posting here was to download files from other sources. I also don't have a virus scanner. And I disabled Windows firewall. thanks for the replies. consider this issue solved Last edited by aldrinkhan; 06.02.2015 at 07:38. |

I'm sorry but we cannot provide help on slow downloads. As far as I know mega has a *soft* limit -> try to change your IP. Maybe it is a server issue, maybe a routing problem...we can't tell because we don't know.

The actual free bandwidth limit is 5GB / 6Hours on a single IP. For now you can work around the limit by starting multiple downloads at once using API (not browser), even if you go out of bandwidth, the downloads in progress will ends without errors; after which you will have to wait before you can download it again.
The limit is dynamic or "real time", so if you limit your download speed at 250 KB/s (20GB / 1 day) you should never being warned by the 509 error. Last edited by GTD; 19.09.2016 at 17:22. |

Thanks for the feedback. Jdownloader now supports free/premium accounts, I guess those have higher limits
