So I guess the only way to put the high bitrate audio on the 1080p file would be to download both, demux the 720p file and mux the audio together with the 1080p video. Would that actually improve quality, or is the DASH audio still the closest to the source (and the 720p one just re-encoded at a higher bitrate)?

DASH is closer to original. 720p non dash seems to use fixed bitrate (independant on source material)

As for the site Soundcloud, the original image is also available for YT pages, so the (BQ). But do not offer JD2 when the link to the "maxresdefault" image is not included in the page source. While sometimes it is actually still available.

Would it be possible to include automatically link to those pictures which are available or not, as you already do for soundcloud pictures "original"?

Can you please provide example links? By default the youtube plugin already shows available images. Check Settings-Plugins->search for youtube

Hmm. My JDownloader shows the preview pic available in list. Sure you have set JDownloader to also crawl the images and not enabled any filters?

JDownloader automatically offers the preview image from the video. When you add the link it will show all available downloads, depending on the plugin settings.

In that special case the link i showed you it does not offer the (bq) but just the (hq).
Whereas when the link "maxresdefault" is in the source then the JD2 also porpose
but it is not always in the source so that it is available if you put the direct link for it.
In other case "normal case" the (bq) image proposed directly if is present in the YT source page
At least that's what I've noticed so far ;-)

JD downloads 1080p, after that it asks "file exists, what to do?". I click "rename" and then it downloads audio as an mp4 with the same title _2.
Before that bug, JD downloaded audio and muxed it together. My settings are "always download best video quality"

The 720p has definitely the higher quality, goes way up higher in frequencies, check with SPEK as mentioned above.

I found 2 players that has that feature to play video that way but quality looks much better viewing on Youtube set to 4K, is the video grabbed correctly at highest resolution? That video downloaded as only 204MB only for a video 2m 32s in length in 4K resolution, seems a bit low?
