which java version recommend ?
hi,
in the beginning, there have been some issues with different java versions. for example if PC runinng 24/7 with JD2, it crashed after some days due to memory overflow or something like that. currently i am running 7u51, and system runs rock stable. is it safe to upgrade to java 8 ? |

Yes should ba okay to upgrade to Java 8.
If your JD crashes again, consider posting your log here. Do you have a lot of links in JD (more than 50 000)? GreeZ psp

in the early days of JD2, there had been some issues with memory overflow, which causes system crash on 24/7 running after a few days. later this had been fixed, atm system runs fine - but with meanwhile outdated java version.
due to this story, i am asking about experiences with java 8 before i update. and yes, i keep a big amount of old downloads in an "archive" folder of JD2 to avoid double downloads - much more than your number. |

How many exactly?
As said, JD can now keep more links but it will still get slow when adding "too many" links - I don't know how "too many" is defined exactly at the moment - of course it also depends on your hardware. GreeZ psp
