Again:
Fileserve has MAJOR server-issues!
Often downloads do not start because the servers don't respond and YEs it CAN happen AFTER entering the captcha

The problem with fileserve is fileserve itself. The only fileserve links that are slow to pick up/start/do anything are for me the same in the browser.

I suspect older links get shunted to a server out in some faraway backwater.

That said I do sometime get the odd similar behaving link in megaupload.

I emailed both my ISP and Fileserve, Fileserve suggested I use their download manager, and to be fair my speed went back to normal (around 2mb/s) but the main problem of my downloads stopping and starting was still present. My ISP said there was nothing wrong with my ping or tracert test. It's most likely due to that bloody IWF filter.

It's a shame they won't help you out, because there really is a huge speed difference when using their software. But even with the improved speed it's no good if my downloads keep stopping and starting, and I get that problem with all download managers

i have decrypted around 60% of their api but still some important things unclear. someone with a .net decompiler might be able to help but at the moment i'm stuck. we got in touch with them but no further contact till then.

Just a thought, as my country (UK) and my ISP is using the IWF list, I had to buy Fileserve premium to use their service, apart from their Filerserve manager works for me , also "internet download manager" works perfectly as well with 8 chucks per file connections. On the downside is the Direct download box has to be ticked in the fileserve account settings.

Would it be possible to pull some of the code from IDM, replicate those code as part of plug-in?:confused:

That's a scheme I hadn't thought of. They just bribed the IWF mafia to get more premium customers.

Fileserve Premium Account issue

First let me say thanks for a lovely app.

I live in the UK, my server Talktalk

JD version 0.9.581

Fileserve plugin 13682

Mac OS 10.6

Like may others, I'm having problems with my Fileserve premium account: JDownloader will not retain my Premium account settings. BUT, when I connect via my neighbour's server (with his permission!) all works fine. He's with Virgin, Iwhat's interesting is I believe both Talktalk and Virgin are on the IWL filter list.

Here's a log extract for TalkTalk server:

I post this as I have not seen anything similar in this thread (all 28 pages!!!) and thought it may be helpful to developers. Incidentally, this issue started after the last update of JD.

Keep up the good work, cheers bretski

I too with talktalk and my symptoms are slightly different , I can download from fileserve using IDM and some random occasion with JDownloader as well, basically with Fileserve they check the IP for non-member and cookie for premium member. talktalk has already implied the IFW, we all literately go out the talktalk server under the same IP.

Yes Virgin media is a member of IFW:

Andguess what MEGAUPLOAD is on the list now :(

Search for "fileserve premium problems" (no quotes).

I think I found a discussion of the problem. It has to do with the ISP in the UK blocking specific kinds of messages.
Read http://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=22069

Default question about fileserve

I am a free user of fileserve. I usually using Jdownloader to download file from fileserve and my speed always range from 250-450kps. But now it suddenly decrease to 5-50kps.

Do you experience the same problem?

Default premium acct: jdownloder speed drops substantially towards the end of a file download

hey guys,

1st, i want to thank the developers of jdownloader. it's a great tool, and once the bugs have been addressed, it'll be even better!

my problem: jdownloader achieves the maximum speed (around 1.8mb/s) for the most part of the download of an archive. but what happens is it drops to around 44k/sec (more or less) towards the end. for example, on a 400mb file, jdownloader gets 1.8mb/s up to 350mb, and drops to 44k/sec for the remaining 50mb!

right now, the only way for me to achieve the full speed is to stop and start! now i have tried various combination of connections per file and max # of file downloads, to no avail.

please let me know how i can resolve this. thank you.

Concerning this IWF problem: If my ISP started to filter the internet for me, I'd start to filter the payment he gets from me, until he stops that. I don't know exactly how laws are in the UK, but I would be surprised if not delivering what you've been paid for was legal.

@ tuinebap88,
This seems like a problem at fileserve. Please wait a couple of days.

@ mayorq,
Try changing Max.Con. (the bottom of the JD window) to 1 or 2. If this does not fix your problem, post at least 3 links that work OK in a browser but have problems in JD. Upload a log showing JD downloading the links.

@ Pressfred,
Read the terms of service from your ISP. You will probably find that it is legal to block communication that can harm the network or contains illegal content.

Unfortunately, the UK has signed-on to the fake "War on terrorism" and has passed laws to allow the government more control over suspected terrorist communication. People providing world wide access to software are considered terrorists under the new definitions.

This is not a political statement, but a statement of fact, since "War on terrorism" makes no sense. "Battle against terrorists" makes a lot more sense.
