After set to 0 and restarting the app: 1. Existing broken links always download at lower resolution, change is not retroactive 2. Links currently in downloads tab but while downloading shown as offline, if the first re-download attempt works it will download at the initial resolution, if not and after a few retries it will download lower resolution 3. New added links that turn into offline links while downloading, same behavior as #2 The default is 5, I set it to 0 and it still downloads lower resolution. For example on a 2160p video, the status changed to file not found. I restart this download a few times, it starts downloading the 1440p variant despite setting it to 0. Setting it to 0 should've locked the resolution to what was initially selected right? When I saw it downloading the 1440p variant, I stop the download and re-add it to linkgrabber, the linkgrabber will show 1440p as the max available, going into change variant will also show 1440p as max available. It won't show the 2160p variant in the linkgrabber unless I delete the link from the downloads tab and re-add the link. If I set the value to -1 it won't download what was initially picked which is the 2160p or any lower resolution variant no matter what. I think this is what it's supposed to do. To prevent the app from re-downloading in lower resolution, I am using -1. I delete the offline links and re-add it, this is the only way I found that will preserve the initial resolution. Setting the value to 0 doesn't do anything. |

After further testing, setting autoalternativesearchdepths to a negative number won't work, downloads won't start. Shouldn't this not trigger anything if the selected resolution is available?
At 0 value, some videos won't re-download manually, I use force download, it will give file not found error. If I try it a few times, it will start downloading lower resolution. Some videos force download will start immediately at lower resolution. I think the reason some starts downloading lower resolution immediately and others after a few tries is because the former had a few re-download attempts already. So my testing conclusion is the 0 value sometimes will work and sometimes it won't work. Multiple retries will always bypass it. That should not be the case if it's set to 0. For offline links due to connection issues, the original selected resolution is available if you delete the link and re-add it. But if you never do this, the app blocks out that resolution, you will never be able to download it at the resolution you selected first and you can only get the lower resolution if you retry enough times. Ideally the app should handle this one of two ways 1. Re-download video with resolution locked at what was initially selected if user chose this option in advanced settings. I don't think the app is able to do this now, it blocks out the selected offline resolution until you delete/re-add. The video at the chosen resolution is not offline, it only seemed that way because of connection issues. 2. Add a method to delete/re-add links in one step while using the current link's properties like package name, save location, etc. |

jd falsly mark file as already downloaded.
for example you add a video to download and download it. then you add it one more time and change resolution. but file name is not changing, and showing red as if it is already in downlod list. other way around - add a video, (1080 for example) change resolution to lower one (720 for example), download. add it one more time, jd shows 1080 red. with any youtube link |

Hi,
Just noticed that today. Right click link in the LinkGrabber tab >> Add additional variants >> select subtitles srt | description txt | audio >> click Add and popup closes and nothing is added to LinkGrabber. Tested on two installations, same effect. Will appreciate your help! No sample link because every link is affected. If the app can change how it handles these, it will help a lot.
#1 Most of my downloads are like this, a portion of links needs to be re-added if not it will download in lower resolution: ![]() #2 When the connection is very unstable it'll return something like this: ![]() These really aren't a problem if we could restart the downloads and it downloads again in the resolution we chose. The app for some reason when seeing broken links will block that variant out and go for the next available variant. That advanced setting thing doesn't override this and the only way to be able to download in the resolution we chose initially is delete and re-add. |

Most instances is still showing 5-10% broken links, the links work if delete and re-add. That rate is the same for the past month so I don't think anything changed. Re-adding is very time consuming, I hope there's a way we could restart the downloads and keep the resolution unchanged. |

@minixbox: I need logs in order to know why those will show up as *file not found* and fine that you think that nothing has changed but way too many similar reports for same issue when nothing has changed on our side about this.
So here we are, willing to help/fix the issue but waiting for anyone willing to provide logs that contain the issue. In the past when yt rolling out new changes it started exactly like this, failing for some, then some more, then for all. I need logs as I don't have unstable connection and therefore kinda guessing what happens that is causing this for. JDownloader only tries next variant when selected fails, even after refreshing the links, so I need to know why/how they fail for you.

I am seeing this weird behavior
The download speed is stuck at a constant speed but I could see on the top right that the speed is 0, this goes on for for a up to 1 minute then it'll either continue downloading or turn into host offline status. |

I cant select other resolution on youtube. The standard selection is (714p_50fps_H264-128kbit_AAC).. but as i change the codec to VP9 or another solution, then nothing happens. Not working for several days. Maybe since last update. Thanks. |

Something happened about 1 hour ago, every download returns file not found
Updated to the latest jdownloader version same thing Is it possible for jdownloader to display the error code in the status while still giving the correct status if it really was deleted, etc? Like 403, 429, file not found, deleted, unavailable, age restricted, members only yt-dlp version may 27 2024, returns 403 forbidden yt-dlp version: july 9 2024, works fine |

Youtube downloads have stopped working completely for me. I can't download audio only or different variants. Before, when I'd download a lower resolution variant, it would just work by downloading the mp4. Now when I choose a different variant, the file type changes to .webm (which is useless to me) and then it still won't download. And since I tried updating JD, thinking this issue might be fixed, now Youtube files won't even go to the download tab when I click start. They stay in Linkgrabber regardless.

PSA since every user is affected from youtube making changes to block downloads
After this file not found / offline is fixed, if you restart the downloads, the app will probably download a lower resolution variant because it thinks what you selected is not available and it moves to the next best variant it finds. What this means is the 1080p variant you added may download as 720p 2160p re-download as 1440p, etc. This affects every link currently in your downloads tab, you have to delete the links and re-crawl them to get around this. |
