JDownloader way slower than IDM
Hello everyone!
I've been using IDM for years, but also discovered JD two years ago and have been using both of them daily for quite some time now. I've noticed that my download speed is way lower in JD than in IDM. I've seen multiple threads and topics open with the same subject and every time the solution appears to be to set the same number of connections. The problem is - I have both JD and IDM set to 8 connections max and downloading any file gives me 1MBps on average in JD, while I get 1.7-1.8MBps in IDM (I have a 15Mbit connection). This happens if I test the same link for the same download, IDM is just a lot faster. I'm trying to move away from IDM and use JD exclusively, but I'd like to get the same download speeds first. Is there anything I might be able to adjust to get this? Thanks! |

Which host are you downloading from?
Are you a free- or a premium user? Have you already checked this troubleshooting guide? -psp-

Hi!
This happens in all hosts. For example I use a lot of AllDebrid premium, then Mega, Zippyshare, Anonfiles, Google Drive etc. I've tested this downloading from some other sources, like for example downloading Ubuntu from the official webpage - IDM gives way better results again. I did check the Troubleshooting guide you linked just today, before making this thread. |

Can you please compare/verify speeds with windows taskmanager/network graph. Tools can have different (average)speed calculation! Also check your firewall/av. JDownloader itself doesn't influence speed and downloads as fast as your setup/system allows.
In doubt, we can take a look together via Teamviewer. Contact us via support@jdownloader.org With same number of connections you should get same/similiar speeds.
