Default JDownloader will not start after heavy links collection

I am using Win 7 Pro (x64).

After collected a large number of links JDownloader will not start.

javaw process go up to 487000KB and max 532000KB, but then goes back to 487000KB. Then it loops endlessly. I stop the process after half hour. During the whole time, one kernel is almost using 100% CPU.

Attached a file with the info when I tried to start with java -jar jdownloader.jar

There I get an exception, Exception in thread "main" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

The file database.log = 532222KB.

Attached Files
File Type: txt Start jdownloader_jar.txt (6.4 KB, 335 views)

Default Number of links

I think it was some 10000. Perhaps total number of links is 30000?

So no millions here ...

How about:
- Buy more memory
- Reduce the links (unzip the database.zip in the backup folder into config folder - after taking backup (copy) of the current one)

@ tony2long,
More memory is not the problem.

The problem is a serious bug in W7.
Install the required patches and make sure your antivirus is up to the task.
Read General Discussion -> Required Patches and Security Software and install the appropriate patch for your processor.

You should be using Java 32 bit JRE version 6 update 21. If you are using update 22, uninstall it. Otherwise, you can install the 32 bit JRE over the 64 bit JRE.
Please visit java.sun.com/products/archive to download the correct file.

If your computer contains at least 2 GB of RAM, please start JDownloader with the following batch file:
cd /d <your JD directory
%SystemDrive%:\Program Files (x86)\java\jre6\bin\javaw -Xmx1536m -jar jdownloader.jar
tony2long is right about unzipping database.zip, because your current database is probably corrupted. You can take a backup copy with Ctrl+B from inside JDownloader, exit JDownloader, unzip the jdownloader\config\database.zip file over the files in the config directory.
I have used JD with over 50 000 links with no problems (except it was slow). I have also had over 10 000 Packages.

If you are loading links from a text file, copy (Ctrl+C) the links a few hundred (or 1000) at a time, allow LinkGrabber to process them into Packages (Assemblies for archives), and save them to the Download Window.

If all of the links are related, the merge them into a small number of packages (maybe 100) in LinkGrabber.

Very much thanks.
JRE 6 update 22 uninstalled
JRE 6 update 21 installed
Installed patch.
Now JDownloader runs again.
I have not unzipped the database.zip yet.

Case closed.
