An Error Occurred (December 2020)
Hey fellow JDownloaders,
I've been using this program to download thousands of photos grouped in folders from dropbox for about 10 months since the start of COVID. With absolutely no issue the program has been working without complaints. however in the last couple of weeks i've started to get incomplete downloads of folders with the error message being An Error Occurred (dropbox.com). I have reinstalled the software, done hard reboots, Force start download, have tried different directory paths, restart my router, my internet is as good as its ever been and continue to have the same issue. I'm not entirely sure if its something i'm doing wrong or not (seeing as i havn't changed the way i've used it for 10 months it seems odd that it only now has started having this issue.) here is a log of the last attempt 21.12.20 12.33.29 <--> 21.12.20 12.31.38 jdlog://2765525302851/ Any Help on the matter would be greatly appreciated. |

Your JDownloader/Java runs out of memory. It's limited to max 455Mb and you have many many links in list
Open your JDownloader folder, see https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...tion-directory and then you should find a .vmoptions file. Edit in text editor and remove any -Xmx or -Xms lines and add -Xmx2g to allow max 2gbyte of memory that should help

Jiaz Thank you!
I have removed all of the completed downloads and the whole program is now running much better. however i haven't been able to find the .vmoptions file. in the directory so i haven't been able to allocate more memory to Jdownloader unfortunately but hopefully this continues to work as long as i keep the download list clear after completion. Thanks once again Jiaz! |

Thanks for the feedback! and you're welcome!
On MacOS it all works slighty different If you want we can take a look together via Teamviewer and modify settings to allow more memory. Just contact us via support@jdownloader.org I don't remember where to find that file under MacOS right now but together we can find it in no time

Hey Jiaz,
after having great success with keeping the download list empty for a few months, I have started having this same issue while downloading images from Dropbox.com I have tried almost everything bar allowing more memory. I have tried exiting all other applications so it can run as smoothly as possible however it continues to have the same issue. here's a log of the issues I'm having 16.03.21 21.07.29 <--> 17.03.21 16.08.57 jdlog://2109725302851/ thanks in advance |

According to log your JDownloader is still limited to 512mb.
Please update vmoptions file, see: https://board.jdownloader.org/showpo...45&postcount=5 via rightclick, show package content and edit to -Xmx1g -psp-
