I thought I'd wait a few days to see if anyone else had this problem, but it seems to be just me and a friend here in Canada. We're still experiencing the problem where JD just sits on a Letibit download link, saying "Connecting..." but never starts the download.
I uploaded a tiny test file to Letitbit and successfully downloaded it using Firefox.
Here is the Letitbit download link to that 100 byte rar file:

Because I was able to download it using Firefox, I don't think there's any problem with our systems (for me, XP+SP3, for my friend, 64 bit Win7), nor does it appear that Canada is being blocked by Letitbit.
I sent the Letitbit download url of that tiny file to JD and JD sat for about a half hour, just saying "Connecting..." in the Status window.
Here's the log file that JD uploaded:

I was originally running Java v17 and upgraded to v21 with no change. My friend has been running v21 on Win7.
JD reports that the Letitbit Plug-in is 20654.
I did notice that the log file has several warnings, like this:
17 5/13/13 10:59:27 AM - WARNING [jd.http.Browser(init)] -> Installed JS Hotfix
17 5/13/13 10:59:27 AM - WARNING [jd.http.Browser(init)] -> Installed JS Hotfix failed
Can you see anything in the log file that might indicate what's causing the problem?
Edit: BTW, JD has successfully downloaded from a number of other file hosts. It's just Letitbit.
