Default Duplicate links

Hi!

It would be great if JDownloader 2 highlights files of a same size when sorting links by size.

This would be useful when copying links for the same file, from different hosts, for example. The colour coding would assist in determining if file is a duplicate so that one of the links is manually removed.

Thanks for your consideration!

Hi,
JD is already supposed to auto-detect mirrors and also put them into the same package.
I either do not understand your use-case 100% or our current handling fails for the URLs you want to download.
Please post example URLs.

What i mean, is for a way to identify that the same file is added twice in link grabber. For example:

**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**
**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**
**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

These 3 links are for the same file and JD2 won't treat them as mirrors. A colour-code for these links (when sorting by size for example) would flag that the file is of the same size. Then it would be up to the user whether to delete or not (since files could be different but have the same file size).

Thanks!

Well this is because the file on icerbox.net has a completely different name.

I don't see a way to do this at this moment and this is the first feature for such a request.
Please wait for Jiaz to check this thread and decide if it makes sense to create a ticket for it.

Additionally if I was you, I'd try to contact the one who uploaded those files and let him know that all files on all mirrors should be given the same name because ... it makes sense!

Thanks - indeed it's not a big deal but when files are GBs big, it ends up in a waste of bandwidth and storage.

Thanks for all!

Yes but as said - essentially you want a workaround for a fault which someone else has made: Naming those files improperly

Anyways - let's wait and see what Jiaz says.

What just came into my mind:
If you e.g. copied all of those 3 URLs from one source, you could force-add all from the same source into the same package - maybe that wuld help too?

the sources are different, just realised that file size would often include the website name as well. As I said, it's easily worked around since I'd sort by size and go through the list to delete duplicates already Just thought of flagging it up should others feel it might be useful

Maybe there is a way to do it via EventScripter scripts but to be honest I can't imagine how.

Anyways I'm off now and back again tomorrow.
