Default Downloads keep slowing down

I've been having these issue for over a month and I don't know what to do.
Downloads work fine until they reach about 90%, then they slow down to 20kb/s.
Stopping the download and starting it again works most of the times.
This happens with every host all time.

Here are my logs in case they are needed. I'm using JD2.

05.01.17 01.09.45 <--> 05.01.17 01.53.52 jdlog://6478969150841/

I hope you guys can help, I've used JD for years and this has never happened.

Please use less chunks, you use 15. Normally 1-4 should be enough.
JDownloader does not yet support dynamic chunking. That means that 15 connections start to download = high speed. whenever a connection finishes, speed will become slower because the server does not increase speed to other connections and then at the end less connections= slower speed. It's bad configuration on server side that the connections do not get higher download speeds.

I'm working on new download core that can dynamically start connections and then this will no longer be a problem.

Can you please check with max connections = 1 and compare speed to download same file in browser? Please use the taskmanager speedgraph to compare speeds!

Hello. Any update on this? This problem has persisted for me, for several years now. I do not know if the problem is host-specific and something that is being controlled server-side, but I am really curious about whether or not there are any solutions for this.

As previously mentioned by detham, I can manually stop/start the downloads when speeds slow to a crawl, but sometimes this has to be done multiple times, on the same file, and it would be preferable if no intervention were required at all, such as an automatic stop/start whenever a file's download speed drops below a specified amount.

I currently experience this problem with Rapidgator files, via RPnet. I can test other hosts, if needed.

Cheers.

You could e.g. use an EventScripter script to work around your issues.

The script does help but nowhere near if it was able to retain the dropped connections as it does with IDM dynamic connections.

I have verified that this occurs with only one host(UL] and only when the links are generated via the RPNet premium link generating hoster, it does not occur when downloading directly from UL.

Not directly but it can restart downloads --> Connections may be back then.

No, unfortunately the connections never come back once it drops a number of connected threads no matter how many times the link is restarted as this would be a dynamic feature not currently available in JD2.

For example, if the link is set to 6-connected threads/chunks and around 80% the download drops 5 of those connected threads, it will not retain the 5 new or existing threads, however, in IDM when it reaches the 80% and the 5 threaded connections are dropped/disconnect, then after a couple of minutes or so IDM will pickup 5 new threads/chunks till it finishes.

As said, our current downloadcore cannot deal with this and rthere is no ETA on when the new one will be released - sorry!

This means only the number of previously opened connections can be re-opened at this moment (only when they were not finished before).
