Its clearly better to use the api but not with fileserve.

Guys i ll try to explain to you why an API exists:
An API is there to make things easier.
It's a way to log in easier and faster and get the account information easier.
An API is something you rely on as a programmer.
Now, if there is a service like fileserve which breaks its own API and doesn't fix it what do you think should you guys do?
Continue using it?
Imagine your car would break down very often.
Would you rather fix it until you're out of money or would you sell/scrap it and buy a new one?
Think about that!

Default Fileserve premium issues

There was already a thread on this but since some chose to be children, apparently it was closed.

For 3 days now this program keeps telling me my fileserve account is invalid. I know for a fact its not (doesnt expire until 3/2012) and its nothing to do on their end because I contacted them first... and I also had two other people tell me they could use their jdownloader just fine to download from their fs accounts just fine.

Is there a fix in the near future or do I need to stop using it?

Hi, the same here: always the error "invalid account".
I've just emailed FileServe through their Suggestion/Bug-Report form.

I'm having this issue as well. I've extended my Fileserve premiun account until the 3 of february 2012, I can log on in fileserve page, but jdownloader since this morning keeps saying it's an invalid account :S. I've reseted my router-modem, so I get a new IP, I've deleted and added the account at least three times, but yet it's saying it's an invalid account.
I don't know if it's got to do with the program itself, or it's something working wrong in fileserve's server.
I've been using jdownloader since two or three years ago. I started with a premium account of megaupload, and since 6 months ago, with fileserve. It's the first time I have any problem.
Is there something I can do to solve it?
Thanks in advance!

Me too... I have had this issue before with my premium fileserve account but it usually goes away within a few mins of me refreshing the account on the jdownloader account page...

But for the past 2 days it has been doing it again and not going away... I have refreshed the account several times as well as deleting and re adding the account... Logging into my fileserve account from google chrome... Restarting my computer etc. but nothing seems to be working...

Anyone got any ideas why?

The fault here is with Fileserve, not with JD. Fileserve's API is broken you can test for yourself by going to app.fileserve.com/api/login/ and looking a the response (Its an error message "{"error_code":500,"error_message":"error, try again later"..."). Your just going to have to wait for Fileserve to fix the error, until then just download the links via DriectHttp. More annoying, but it will work for now.

Intresting move closing down the sticky thread, most of the guys in there we were giving you feedback about the FS issue. Also sharing their experience with FS and JD. Most of us all know and understand that this is FS server side problem but JD forums seems to be the right place to share this since FS doesn't have forums or a portal of any kind. Anyways thanks for developing great and free app with amazing features...

This post was directed at the admins and the developers obviously....

On a related note, JDownloader uses app.fileserve.com/api/, which i think is a JSON api (i don't know much about web services). I found it weird that Fileserve's official download manager was logging in fine, so i did some packet sniffing. Turns out they use a SOAP api (api.fileserve.com/api2/fileserveAPIServer.php). So would using that api be better, is there some documentation exists for the first one but not the second? kinda curious :D

@jjaa
We already used their second API and it also broke down.
Just stop using fileserve and i'll repeat this:

Just wait until FS has overcome its problems. Complaining in our forum won't help, writing an email to them doesn't, either. But I'm pretty sure they know about their problem.

Default FS Down Again

Fileserve started working last night until about 11:00 this morning. Now it's the same old problem again. All I get is Invalid Account. I hope they can get this fixed. This is getting really old real quick.

Exclamation Fileserve Premium issue - not "enabling"

I am aware that there are fileserve issue threads but those issues aren't the one's I'm having. And if I misread and they are I'm sorry.

So I bought a fileserve premium not to long ago, maybe a month and I've been downloading like crazy, without issues. As of two days ago (28,10,2011) my fileseve account wouldn't enable. By enable I mean the check-box wouldn't work. For example, I have the account added under premium accounts in jdownloader, then I hit enable and it seems to enable perfectly file without issue for half a second. It says working and the traffic usage is unlimited like normal then all of a sudden it says invalid account and unchecked. I check it again and refresh, and the exact same situation. So next step was to check if my fileseve account was having issues, I went to their website, and I could log in without issue (making sure my pass and username was correct) and my account seemed to be up and running as normal. I start downloading fileseve without jdownloader and im hitting the regular 1mb plus as before. So jdownloader seems to be having the issues from my understanding. Any recommendations as to what I should do?
