I'd like to be able to block items in the download list so that they can't be removed until the blocking attribute is removed. If this is already possible, I would appreciate the tip as I was not happy with the search. Otherwise, I leave it as a suggestion.

neither is this possible nor is it planned.
To be honest I don't see the use-case for the wide audience.

Maybe it is possible to do it via custom EventScripter script.

I recently mistakenly deleted hundreds of download links not yet downloaded. Fortunately, I was able to recover them from a previous backup of the JD2 folder. I believed that this situation could be avoided by directly blocking list items or with an undo-redo button, but in fact, searching the forum threads did not return similar issues from other users. Thanks.

You should be able to achieve this with current design, though the menu editors. You can modify how the delete function works && uncheck all but finished/offline for example. Then create a modified delete(all) or rebind current binding with another (still open to human error)

I honestly think this is a mix of user error, we already have orly function (dialog confirmation) in menu editor. But this can be bypass this either globally or in menu editors. And or clicking the wrong selection/button/keybindings

Yes, JD2 has enough tools to protect against accidental deletion, but my focus (and I really wasn't clear enough) would be to completely block the item, including renaming, repositioning and other properties.

This can be useful in situations where multiple people need to use the same program, not to mention the underlying issue of an undo-redo button.

I guess so too ;p bit hard to give advise when you never stated in your OP. I just looked for workable solutions now that could have worked if you so chose to utilise. All is good!

alternatively maybe event scripter script to audit actions, but not sure as its been years since I looked into/kept up with this.

Thanks for the alternatives, and sorry for the glitch . Sometimes, in the rush of everyday life, we think that we have written something that, however, goes unnoticed, and I considered that it would be excessive to open another topic to deal with a correlated subject.
