Looks like network issues java.net.SocketException: Connection reset. That would explain random failing

Hmmm... For some reason, sometimes downloading the YT page times out. I tried using youtube-dl

Is YouTube blocking scripts?

Code:
[12:19:53] marcin@arch /home/marcin/Downloads (1)
> ping youtube.com
PING youtube.com (46.134.200.40) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from youtube.com (46.134.200.40): icmp_seq=1 ttl=60 time=31.0 ms
64 bytes from youtube.com (46.134.200.40): icmp_seq=2 ttl=60 time=32.2 ms
^C
--- youtube.com ping statistics ---
2 packets transmitted, 2 received, 0% packet loss, time 1000ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 31.089/31.666/32.244/0.604 ms
[12:20:00] marcin@arch /home/marcin/Downloads (0)
> youtube-dl -f mp4 "**External links are only visible to Support Staff**
[youtube] YSRwPQHcfuw: Downloading webpage
ERROR: Unable to download webpage: <urlopen error [Errno 110] Connection timed out> (caused by URLError(TimeoutError(110, 'Connection timed out'),))
And basically, when I was copying the log, JDownloader successfully caught the download links, and now I'm downloading the video... Weird.

Default jDownloader is excruciatingly slow downloading Youtube videos

jDownloader 2 (updated to latest version) is excruciatingly slow downloading Youtube videos and has been like that for some time now. Not before. How to fix it? No problem downloading from other sites at top 25 MB/s on symmetrical 200 Mbps FTTH line.

Mac OS X 10.11.6 Beta (15G26a) El Capitan.

Greetings.

Im fairly expert with this program, since from 6 months im on a mobile connection, unlimited at night, i have one problem tough

i have 2 pcs, i usually download a lot from youtube but the problem is when i move link containers files from one pc (the primary pc has a faster crawling for big playlists) to another, it says invalid variant, i checked is the same

I download only the variant for mobile/tablet devices to watch them on the go (360p-h264-128bit-AAC) on both pcs i dont know why it does that

@jDoX: Youtube limits the speed of download to match the bitrate of the video. This can only be improved by using multiple connections so the speed will be better in beginning but will still slow down after some time.

@Lucretius0000: Please do not use DLC for export/import. Simply use the downloadList or linkcollector zips from cfg folder, those files contain your list and you can import/load them via drag/drop or LoadContainer function.

thanks for the support ^^

yes it worked because i have a smaller netbook (those 10" laptops that are good for downloading and make less noise when on, i have it in my bedroom) and i dont want to leave the main pc on all night is a good point

hello again is not an issue just a nuisance

at times i find some videos not even started like some 50 downloaded then one not even started at 0%, another batch downloaded and so on, is because of the multi segmented download or something else?

Thanks for the information. That must be new, since previously jDownloader downloaded from Youtube at full speed (25 MB/s on a 200 Mbps FTTH line).

Default Can't download youtube video as .MP3

Despite everything necessary checked, JDownloader refuses to give me the option to download a video, especially a playlist, as a .mp3. It just doesn't show up in the context menu.

Any ideas?

@Mediin
Youtube discontinued itag5 which was most common itag for FLV, the library that is used to create mp3 requires flv. Try grabbing m4a these are taken from dash audio or muxed from mp4 videos.

i dont know if i have a memory issue
cause i get it often the message "ES WIRD ZUVIEL SPEICHER VERBRAUCHT" in the download section and jd slows down and crashes, this is often when i handle many links... i guess RAM memory is meant by this? i have 6gb RAM memory should this be enough for extensive use with lots of links? any hints if i can change settings?

@baracus: I guess you are using old JDownloader installation. Check about Dialog and see memory line. the 3rd(last) number is important. Maybe provide screenshot of it

Use board search. Youtube limits speed to actual bitrate of video

that is new , usually the last few months jdownloader capped my 30gb every night, these weeks not always just left 5-6 gigs per night (at 360p are a lot of videos)

im experimenting the segments what are the optimum settings? i usually go 5 conn/10 seg

ill try a bit more tonight like 13 segments; no need for the log file i can live with it , im not an hardcore user hope you understand
