Zone Alarm free
After reinstalling system and installing new Zone Alarm free edition, Jdownloader doesn't connect nor even asks for allowing to connect like in previous version of Zone Alarm. I've added manually Java.exe and JDownloader.exe to trusted programms, but this didn't help. Anyone knows how to solve this problem?

jd normally starts from jdownloader.exe but runs from javaw.exe make sure you have the latter exempt too. zone alarm used to prompt you when app tries to connect to the internet for the first time.

Yes, indeed. But I don't know if that's the new version of ZA or JD, ZA with full settings to manual (so it asks about everything) doesn't ask about JD. |

Im getting the same error.
I attached what shows the log of Zone Alarm. The fact is that only does with JD and there are no way to add toa safe zone. It have multiple options to add those IPs to the safe zone, but everytime that JD try to connect, the IP is different, so there are no way to download with JD now. Some adviced please, this is really annoying and never happend before :/ Also, JD shows this in the registry events: Quote:

Try to find general http/web/www protection and disable it. In case you can't find option for your problem, then
1.) use another firewall/av 2.) contact their support as it is the cause of the problem!

ZoneAlarm says that the problem comes from Oracle and not from their firewall. The fact is that works pretty fine in Windows XP SP3, but not on Windows Vista and 7. So I will keep 6 u33 for now wich isnt really a big problem and lets see if is fixed in a next update. Also, you guys should contact Oracle support and notify that, so they can work in a fix. |

I'm using jD with Kaspersky Internet Security (in W7) and Commodo Internet Security (in XP) and both are able to create correct exception rules (you can set manually the rules or add them in "teach" mode). If Zone Alarm is unable to do it correctly its their fault. There is nothing to report Oracle because their support will decline it. |

Did you happen to create a set of new rules for java7 (java.exe/javaw.exe)? As java7 installs to a new path and your old rules no longer are valid (dependant on how protection software exemption rules work). It has been explained within Java 1.7 Advisory. If it is actually a bug created by Oracle or java community (open source) developers, as ZoneAlarm indicated to you, ZoneAlarm should be the party to inform Oracle. As they know what the problem is, at least in respects to there software platform. We should not be the third party who creates the report as we are only a intermediary platform which is affected. If they need more information about how our program works they can ask us, or check our source code, or play around with the program themselves.

I emailed directly to them and they answered in few hours. Really pretty fast.
But I dont think that copy and paste the email right here would be right. I just can tell that they are aware of this "bug" some months ago (since June). It doesnt happen in Winwdows XP and have to do with Java Applets (I really dont know what that means lol). Doesnt happen in others OS aswell. And answering to raztoki, obviously I have added those entries to exceptions. Thanks for your help anyways to everyone |

You have to ask these questions because you know some people just assume as it worked previously they have nothing to change.
At least you have progress in finding some resolution. You're welcome
