Default JD always shuts down after startup

For a few weeks now, JD always shuts down a few minutes after starting. I guess it does that after looking for updates and installing these. So it shuts down but won't restart itself.
Can I disable the auto update function? Or is there another solution?
Thanks for your help!

Cheers
Knotte

do not disable auto update. as this is an issue it needs to be fixed and not workaround by not checking whats causing it!
What exactly happens? Does it restart or shutdown?
Close JD and start updater.jar. does it still happen? do you have hs_err files in your jd folder?

It downloads the updates and shuts down. But it won't restart itself. I have to restart it myself again.

Uhh, I don't know how to start a jar file. There's an updater.rev which asks me if I want to "restore lost volumes".

Nope, nothing there.

I actually solved the problem by disabling the silentupdatewithrestart, so it's obvious that JD is simply not capable of restarting itself after an update anymore. Unfortunately, I don't know which update caused that, it must have been about 2 weeks ago.
